- Pending Government Action:Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:Utah Department of Consumer Protection v. Parker Wilde
On November 27, 2024, The Utah Department of Consumer Protection filed a complaint against Parker Wilde alleging violations of the Consumer Sales Practices Act, the Business Opportunity Disclosure Act, and the Telephone Fraud Prevention Act. The complaint includes allegations that Parker Wilde scammed at least $9.2 million from hundreds of victims between 2020 and 2023. Wilde promised consumers that he would set up and manage automated Amazon storefronts for them in exchange for consulting fees ($5,000–$20,000) and inventory costs ($7,000–$10,000). He promised profits of $2,500–$7,200 per month, but no clients reported making any profit, and many complained that Wilde made unauthorized charges to their credit cards.
Rather than establishing storefronts, Wilde allegedly used the funds to purchase cryptocurrency and settle personal credit card debt. Wilde is accused of operating the scheme under various business names, including Zigi, LLC, FBA 3.0 Unfair Advantage, PJW Profit Ventures, LLC, Private Label Accelerator, and Passive Ecom Ventures, LLC. The case is currently pending.
