Absolutely HORRIBLE !! They tell you upon purchase of the *** kit that you get a free 1 month trial of their subscription with your results. What they don't tell you is the subscription starts before you get your results, and you will never get your results to even try the free trial. Once you ask for a refund of the $149 the customer service *** screams at you. Cusses at you and then tries you offer a 50% refund. Also, extremely difficult to find contact information. 100% DO NOT RECCOMEND MYHERITAGE !! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM!

Wish I could leave 0 stars. Never recevied any email saying saying I signed up for any service or trial offer. My first email was when I was charged over $130 for some service. I put in a refund request which took nearly a month to get a response. From there, the incredibly rude "customer support" member (salesperson) would just give me excuses as to the fact I signed up. I told them I had no record of this, and they kept repeating the same thing over and over saying they were "helping". I asked to speak to a manager and he told me he was my account manager. I asked to speak to his manager and he told me, no. I asked for information for senior leadership and was told if I want that I can find it myself. Terrible, rude experience. Please stay away.

I had questions about their Ancient Origins offer. After 4 days my initial request for information, I contacted them again to say never mind that I was not interested. Some 6 hours later, I did receive a phone call. I was called from the number of ************ at 25 minutes after 3 am on Monday morning. Let me repeat that, I was called at 3:25 AM from ************, a phone number that My Heritage owns.If I could leave less than a 1 star I would.

Unbeknownst to me, my MyHeritage account was set on auto-renewal. As soon as I was emailed of the auto-renewal, I contacted the company to cancel my subscription. (This was done literally 1-2 hours after my account had been billed). Live chat wouldnt process a refund, I had to email MyHeritage to cancel the auto-renewal and refund my money. A week or so later, I received an email indicating that the company must talk w/ me on the phone to cancel the account. This sounded like a scam to me. Finally, the company called and I asked them to cancel my subscription and give me my money back. At first, the service *** on the phone refused to do so. I had to inform them that if customers cannot cancel the auto-renewal service -- their policies were fraudulent. After insulting me a few times, the *** finally told me the renewal had been cancelled and issued a refund. CUSTOMERS SHOULD NEVER BE INSULTED AND/OR HAVE TO JUMP THROUGH HOOPS TO CANCEL/GET A REFUND FOR A SUBSCRIPTION THEY CAN'T CANCEL.

    Dear ******,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

When you purchased the Complete Subscription, the confirmation email included information regarding the automatic renewal. Please note that managing or cancelling this feature is straightforward and can be done at any time through your account under My Purchases.

We sincerely apologize for any frustration this situation may have caused that was never our intention. The purpose of our recent call was to offer you alternative options; however, we understand that you preferred a full refund. As requested, the refund has been processed.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to reach out.

    Wishing you a lovely day!

    Kind regards,

    MyHeritage Team

I joined the site around 2014, added a family tree and later copied my DNA results to them from 23andMe. They were great for a while but then started sharing private info from my tree. In June 2018 I deleted my tree and DNA results then canceled my subscription. Then found out they billed me anyway and refused to send a refund, but luckily the payment method I used was able to get the refund for me. I was harassed constantly by phone for months by their call center. I wrote all that off and forgot about it, but now I find in searches that members of the site are cloning my supposedly deleted tree, using my name in their trees, listing living relatives' DOB's & other info, and even, somehow, stole a photo of a relative of mine from a private site and used it on their own tree. I was going to try a free trial membership to see if I can contact the members who are doing this and to make sure my tree and DNA results are removed permanently but they want a lot of personal info for the free trial so I didn't set up an account. I don't want them to have my new contact info or anything else. Now there's nothing I can do to stop them from sharing private info, it's horrible. I hope no one else has this happen to them, do not trust them with your personal info or that of relatives you add to a family tree.

    Dear Ava,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

You still have an account under the hotmail email that you contacted us on. You have quite a big tree there.

If you want to have all the information removed, you can contact us or delete the account yourself by logging in with this hotmail email.

Your last payment was from June 29 2017, you made this purchase over the phone and stopped the automatic renewal of the subscription on November 12 2017. There were three phone calls in total; one on March 11 2018, one on March 21 2018 and one on April 3 2018. Your Complete Subscription expired on July 6 2018 and there have been no charges after that.

We have right now sent you an email to assist you further if necessary.

    Wishing you a nice day!

    Kind regards

There's been no solution to my problem with the company sharing information that I did delete before canceling my account in 2018. I made sure my info was gone before I canceled the acct. I tried to logon per their instructions but it came up as no account existing for me or with my email address. I haven't been able to reach anyone at MyHeritage either. It's an invasion of privacy at this point, and could happen to every other member. How can a deleted tree keep being used and copied? Or one that was on a now-canceled account for that matter? Again, I wouldn't trust them with your information.

In a nutshell, I ordered a DNA kit for my son and received the results, which were way beyond the normal threshold of inaccuracy. As a result, he wanted me to download the ******** an close out his account, because the results were worthlessly inaccurate. However, I cannot DOWNLOAD the data file because there is NOT an option" on my page. I have attempted to contact the company numerous times; however, My Heritage has set up a CS protocol in such a way that screams out loud and clear: Dont call us; we will call you! The company avoids the hassle of having to speaking with people directly, which is standard business practice in the **** Instead, the company uses AI to offset those cost. More importantly, this is also clever form of manipulation on their part to discourage their own customers from calling them. Therefore, in response to these circumstances: if My Heritage does not add the download button to my drop down manage kit menu by this week, I will be filing a Motion in Court against My Heritage DNA for a number of privacy concerns including high jacking consumer data files and removing the download -scroll- down option from the menu under manage kits. I requested my ******** numerous times, and the company is totally unresponsive as the have intentionally made themselves unapproachable and nearly impossible to reach out for ***************** (You can also see these discussions on Reddit.).

I have been doing *** work for decades and moved over to My Heritage after My Family Tree maker went out of business. I have had good success with them for years until recently. I can not log on to my account on my PC or laptop. I do all my **************** on my Computers as a phone APP has little user friendly functionality for good , reliable data entry or retrieval. Recent issues after they have been bought out in last year has degraded I can not get ahold of a person for any technical questions. The phone number on ****** puts you in a big ..long winded loop and does not let you indicate as an option that you NEED TECHNICAL SUPPORT! Luckily also I was only able to get my Act # to try and use the useless phone system which indicates they MAY call back in 7 days from my phone APP. I have written emails and called dozens of times to no avail. I think maybe like "23& ME they are going out of business too or someone is buying all our ancestry heritage for AI??? Not a customer focused company any more! I have been a loyal customer for over a decade but this is POOR. Waiting for caall back to emails too.
