      Vivint Security was contact on Nov 16, 2022 to cancel the service due to selling home and moving to assisted living. All obligations were fulfilled and service contract was cancelled on Nov `16, 2022. Vivint continues to charge the monthly fee to my credit card. So far charges for Dec 2022, Jan 2023, Feb 2023, Mar 2023 at $43.57 continue. My home was sold on Dec 1, 2022. Monthly fee of $43.57 times 4 months = $174.28 is owed to me by Vivint.

      I paid off my loan on February 10, 2023 in the amount of $367.65 with Citizens (confirmation # **************). On February 14, 2023, I mailed them a letter letting them know, that i wanted all future payments stopped since the equipment was paid off. I called them on February 24, 2023 to confirm of receipt of letter and said, that they had not received any letter from me. I was placed on hold for like 10 minutes and eventually was told that the letter was received days ago. However, today March 2, 2023, vivant still deducted money from my account in the amount of $54.11. This deduction should not have happened.       Whilst in the process of moving (I owned both homes simultaneously) Vivint offered to install in my new home, and whilst doing that they were going to pay off the existing loan if I got brand new equipment. They ensured they could install in the new house, but they showed up and absolutely could not install. Since I was told they would be able to install and void existing loan, I sold the house with the equipment. This is the problem. If I would have known they could not install here, I would have sold the equipment, or done something else with it. Vivint is trying to tell me that I am stuck with the entire loan cost PLUS prepayment penalty. It is no fault of my own that they could not install in my new home, and I asked specifically to ensure they could. Whilst trying to find a solution to this issue, I spent an hour and a half on the phone being transferred MULTIPLE TIMES through the same three departments. I had to beg for a supervisor, and he said he would call me back in a week to see what they could do and pause the loan payments for the time being. I have not received a call in almost two weeks, and receive calls from collections almost every day. I have done my best to be cordial, but the entirety of this seems lost of morals and I expect to be refunded. I will continue to press on this issue and gather evidence if not resolved.

      I am rejecting this response because: 

      An inquiry of said event took place in Nov/Dec of 2022, while Vivint declined any wrong doing on their behalf.

      Customer service representative of Vivint spoke to us, and stated no further action was required to cancel when the contract terminated.

      However, funds were withdrawn from our account on 2/1/2023, my wife and I called and spoke with the cancellation department, which should have successfully submitted our request of cancellation. 

       

      In order to successfully cancel our services we had to email the legal department, 2/10/23.

       

      It may take up to “30 days to cancel” an abhorrent excuse to abuse consumer relations.

       

      Funds were withdrawn from our account 3/1/2023 and will be prorated from 2/13-3/13/2023, regardless of our efforts to cancel.

      This is an egregious act against consumers.

      I pay Vivint for home security their equipment does not work. They offered to send a technician out twice he never showed up. They then called me to ask how was my service I replied I do not know he never showed up. It has been four years of this treatment I tried to resolve this they told me no basically.       On January 18, 2023, a Vivint representative by the name of ****************** came to our home. He persuaded ** to purchase the system and assured us that we could cancel in 30 days if we did not like the system. On February 18 I attempted to cancel the service, but the office was not open on Saturday. I reached a Vivint representative that day via chat message on the Vivint website. I was instructed to call customer service which is only available Mon-Fri. That following Wednesday we spoke with Vivint customer service to cancel our service and she informed me that they do not have a 30-day trial period only 3 days. I told her that this is not what the sales representative told us on January 18th. The customer service representative stated that she would need to email ****************** to confirm this information. March 1st we finally got a response back from ****************** and he stated that this was a miscommunication and that he is certain that he did not say 30 days. Now Vivint is taking his word and not considering that he lied to us to close a sale. This is completely unfair and unacceptable. We no longer want the system and Vivint is refusing to cancel our contract and pickup their equipment.

      In his complaint, **************** explains that he is dissatisfied regarding the move process he has experienced. **************** is stating that Vivint will not allow him to cancel.

      Vivint has added a total of three months of credit to Mr. ******* account. If the appointment that is scheduled on March 10, 2023 is unsuccessful, Vivint is willing to cancel Mr. ******* account without penalty.

      According to Vivints records, **************** signed a System Purchase and Services Agreement (Agreement) on August 6, 2020 for an initial term length of sixty (60)months. Within this contract, it states that **************** will pay a monthly services fee of $74.99 to Vivint in addition to a total equipment fee of $2,674.92.

      The technician came for install and he asked me where my sensors were. I told them I didnt uninstall the equipment they did. The person who uninstalled my equipment at my prior residence left all my sensors. Now they are saying the sensors arent mine and I have to buy more and they are going to raise my fees. I own the last house and my new house. How are they not mine?  Why didnt the person uninstalling them make this known when he was doing it? Im totally confused at all of this. My house  is still unprotected and everything at my other home would secure my entire new residence. My house is still unprotected and I'm still paying for an alarm system(cameras and sensors) that is not being used. The door sensor that they put on fell off the first night and my other doors and windows arent protected and two of the cameras were not installed either. They are still sitting in the box

      I am rejecting this response because: the issue is not resolved. The complaint closed out last time because I didnt respond thinking that the issue would be resolved. Im stuck with a bill for a system that isnt doing its job. I need a phone call to get the issue resolved or I need my services canceled and that contract for those cameras cancelled as well. I am not paying for cameras that they didnt hook up or that I cant use

      I have had this complaint opened twice. Im told something will be done, then I agree to close the complaint. Once the complaint is closed, they stop answering my emails. My alarm system still isnt working(this is month 4 now) and Im still being charged monthly for the equipment and I havent checked yet, but they might have charged me for the bill for monitoring too

      Every time the complaint has been closed the company stops answering my emails and they never do what they promised. As you can see the original complaint was probably over two months ago. Therefore I would like to keep this complaint open until the matter is resolved. So far they are only responding with a promise to fix the situation so this complaint can get closed.
