    I created and signed up for a GOTO Assist several years ago. I used GOTO Assist for my computer support business. Today, I received an email stating my subscription has renewed. I no longer use or need their service, so I canceled my subscription. I then called their customer service number to have the charge removed from my **************** card. They told me that the subscription would no longer renew, and I could use the service for a year. They would not refund my money, stating, I needed to cancel before it renewed.

    This review is specifically for the "Grasshopper" virtual phone service which is owned and hosted by "GoTo". As a single member small business owner my phone service needs are basic. The ******************* advertised the key features I needed at an affordable rate. However, after signing up I found the call quality to be poor in general resulting in echoed voices and broken reception on almost every call. The mobile app had issues as well. Using the speaker phone option produced a distant and faint voice effect resulting in a poor call experience. The app also does not recognize the internal mobile phone dialer making it impossible to take calls while driving as it will not pass through audio to the cars internal phone system.Billing and account management is also poor. I started with the free 14-day trial but they limit most features making it impossible to truly vet the service without signing up. The biggest mistake I made was signing up for the annual subscription since *********** will not offer any refunds once you realize you want to cancel the service. They refuse to cancel and will only turn off auto-renew billing. I guess this is how they get away with not providing any options for a refund since your service is still "active". I ported my number to RingCentral and will never look back. The lost cost of the remaining 10 months I paid in advance is well worth it in comparison to losing potential customers because of poor Grasshopper phone service. My suggestion is to avoid *********** if at all possible and work with another company. If you do want to try their service only sign up for one month.

    It is a company that personally deceived me with a negotiation to end the contract and then what they did was extend it for 1 more year, I feel scammed.

    You can easily sign up online but you CANNOT cancel!!! You are the mercy of their account service department who you need to contact via phone or online and ask them to cancel which they then conveniently forget until they bill you again. Worst way to build a customer base. BEWARE.
