Feb 2025 I hired Kody to do an epoxy floor at a hangar in ************. He did a good job. March 13 he gave me a quote to do the same thing at another hangar in *************** via text message. The quote was $19,800. A short time later he reduced his price to $19,000. I mailed a check for a 50% deposit at his request. March 21 I told **** that I wanted him to do his best work and if he would do a good job on St ****** like he did in ************ I would pay him the original amount of $19,800. March 24, **** did the job. I was out of town so I didn't see it for 2 days. When I saw it the floor, my first impression was that it looked good but there was a spot that was damaged by a ***** before it dried. I felt like they were responsible for the quality up until the floor was dry so I told **** that I would pay the remaining balance for the $19,000 that he agreed to do the work for, and I would give him $500 of the $800 bonus that I told him that I would give him if he did his best work. I told him that I would give him the other $300 when he fixed the damaged spot. Later I noticed that the floor was very rough and had sharp edges (spikes) throughout that were catching my mop (these spikes would cut your hand if you ran it across the floor). The ************ job was not like this, the quality of the *************** job was much lower than ************. **** offered to fix it but only if I paid extra ($2500 + the $300 for the ***** repair). I felt like it was very bad business for him to charge me to make a bad job right but I wanted it fixed so I reluctantly agreed. Three days before doing the job, **** asked for a 50% deposit. This surprised and annoyed me because I really believe he should be fixing this for free but I agreed to pay the 50% deposit in cash the morning he came to do the job. He said he wouldn't come unless I paid in advance (again, 3 days out). That was the final straw for me. I'm seeking a partial refund so I can pay someone else to fix this

Yes I have done 2 jobs for ***** he said the second job was great but a cockroach had climbed into the top coat and he was not willi my to pay the $400 until I came to take it out I said no problem I will come a week later he said he was not as smooth as he would like and after 24 hours you can not recoat with the same product so I would have to use a different product I said I could do another coat for him and I would split the cost with him he agreed. As I do with all jobs I take 50% of the cost seeing I do not want to purchase product and drive 3 hours and not get paid. The plan was

To do it the 20th I asked for the 1/2 of the cost which was $1250 he then would not pay and said he would get someone else to do it. We had come to a resolution and he was not willing to pay 1/2 of the cost he already agreed on to pay to get another coat. He still owed me $400. His floor is very good he just wanted another coat and agreed to pay for that but now he won't. I hate that he is not happy but all he would have to do is do what he agreed and pay for the 1/2 of his part and I have no problem heading down.
