1 starOn 2/25, $$$cott **** came to my condo to replace a kitchen faucet and tub spout. After looking at them, here's what they offered (I have the invoices):$1,407.60 (member price, $1,564.00 otherwise)$567.90 if I provided the faucet instead $330.00 to replace the tub spout In what world are those prices not an extreme money grab? I dont have an industrial kitchen and this was not an emergency or after normal hours. I asked if they had lower cost options and that's when I was 'offered' the chance to save money by providing the faucet they would install for me. Really?I told the technician to get out and called another company and had both faucets replaced for around $200 and it took less than an hour (the tub spout took 3 mins with a simple ***** wrench). After reading other complaints here, I realize I'm not the only homeowner being ripped off by $$$cott ****. After providing them feedback, the email response I received was: "I am sorry to hear that your last service didn't meet your expectations." I see this same response on other replies here. Guess what? My 'expectation' was I would receive honest work for a fair price. They're not taking responsibility for their business choices and instead shifting the blame to the customer for not being happy about their behavior. I dont want to deal with unscrupulous and greedy companies that I can't trust, so $$$cott **** will not be getting any more calls from me and I recommend you dont call them either.Review fromAx S

1 starCalled to inquire about if the company provided certain bathroom shower services. The tech confirmed they did not, but do anchor dishwashers down. I said sure to the $85 feet because I needed the help getting it anchored in a home I just moved into. The tech didnt even properly check how he anchored it at an angle before proceeding. It was secured at an angle where the door caught on one side to open. I called or have it fixed and said please do not send the same tech. I get a text that the same tech is in fact coming and called said please send someone who is more competent in providing quality work for a simple task that I paid $85 for. The replacement tech re-anchored it better but then tried to tell me that my 5 year old home was not up to code and would need over $1000 in update repairs. The nerve of this company is completely out of touch and unprofessional.Review fromTerry L

I had new furnace and air conditioner put in in April. It has never worked right since put in. I am elderly with health concerns that make heat dangerous for me, but they wont talk to me(a boss) the equipment was old and I have been trying to exist in a home uninhabitable by 105 degree heat. Promises were made about fixing it and call backs that were never returned, no attempt made to fix the problem which is a part unavailable! Nothing offered for answers to heat, I have nowhere else to go. This is killing me! And they dont care. I did nothing wrong, and expect a remedy before I die! On top of that they billed me $20,000, which I paid! I also asked for warantee info and an energy report to try and get an energy rebate, which was promised and never sent! Any attempts to talk to a boss were thwarted by an irresponsible business owner with a secretary who tries to deal but does not. Many times I was promised to speak to a responsible party, but there isnt one! I am requesting this piece of junk removed and a new one installed in a timely manner! I am considering legal action.Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc.

*****,
Please accept my sincere apology for what is happening. This is a very unfortunate situation and I am diligently working on getting the replacement part expedited to our office. Our intention is to get this installed for you ASAP. The manufacturer gave us an eta of 5:00PM today, 7/29/24. As I mentioned in our phone call earlier, I will give you another update prior to 5PM.
Regards,

Avoid! They will charge you exorbitant amount for a subpar service (their workers have no clue about job). When you complain their ***** manager will try to gaslight you. Terrible manners, greedy sad figure. Their customer service is non-existent. They will pretend that they will refund you or fix the issue but at the end none of that will happen. (Mind it, if they didn't destroy your place to begin with, it wouldn't need fixing). Spare yourself a headache and choose a professional company, this one is not it!Scott R. I had my a/c condenser stop working on a Sunday called Scott **** for an emergency call. And I knew they were going to charge more for being a Sunday and it was expected ($119 plus a $10 fuel surcharge). But I wasn't expecting the mark up on parts to be so egregious and the explanation from management was that they have to pay their people, isn't that the point of a $129 Sunday fee. The part in question was a capacitor costing $380 when in fact the part costs under $20. To my understanding thats price gouging in blatant terms. my unit is still under warranty from the manufacturer (day and night) and should have been covered. Management is refusing a full refund instead only offered a half off deal, which they see as fair. To just end the debate and back and forth I begrudgingly accepted. I would not recommend them for anything the way they price ***** people when they're desperate. They are price gouging people.Scott R. Hale Plumbing and Heating, Inc.

****************, I'm sorry you feel this way. It is company policy that we charge an additional evaluation/diagnostic fee on the weekends, as these hours are considered to be "afterhours". You agreed to the afterhours evaluation fee of $129 + repair costs to get a technician to your home. We value you as a customer, and have agreed to refund you a portion of the parts and labor charges. You accepted the refund offer of $257.50 and was refunded to your credit card.

1 starI called to have a couple new valves soldered onto the copper pipes coming into the laundry room. I told them exactly what I needed done on the phone, and they told me it would be $49.I had them come do the repair, and after the guy got there, he told me it would be over $500. It was leaking at the time, and I needed it fixed asap, so they really had me over a barrel. This is a 15 to 30 minute job at most. These guys are crooks. Find an independent plumber.Review fromrick s

1 stardo not hire scott **** plumbing had them come out on a deaf and handicap person on nov. 23 the day before thanksgiving they did not fix the furnace and charged $157.00. The deaf and handicap person was without heat over thanksgiving weekend. The repairman said he cleaned the flame sensor when i got home on sunday night I took the sensor out it had not been cleaned off he said he moved the egnightor which cant be moved it is bolted down. He said he did a few other miner things but he didnt fix the furnace. He blew the fuse that feeds the electric to the furnace and did not fix that. So the furnace didnt even have power when he left. All he wanted was for me to replace the furnace. When i said no he didnt seem to care anymore. I wasnt there but he had my credit card so i didnt have a say in the matter and he charged the $157.00. I called another heating conpant on Nov. 29 they came right out and fixed the furnace. Do not hire this company. I have gone to bank and disputed this charge. I am fare in paying my bills but when they dont perform or do what they say they will do and leave a handicap person without heat over a weekend is just wrong. do not hire this company.Review fromDeb F

1 starScott **** Plumbing (SHP) replaced our 13 year old central air unit after it froze up. The work was done in June and we paid over $7000. Two months later, the unit had stopped working. SHP informed us that the blower motor (an essential part of the function of the A/C) was not working up to specs and was likely the cause. Though the blower motor is essential to the function of the new unit, it was not replaced as it is shared by the A/C and furnace. The **** manager said that discussion about this normally takes place at the consideration of a new unit. Nothing was mentioned. The technician who came out inspected and cleaned intake vents, made some adjustments and left with the unit running. We have since spoken with the manager of the **** division. He informs us that they would happily install a furnace for us at a reduced rate. (We declined due to lack of confidence.) We have since received calls regarding setting up an appointment for our new furnace installation, having a technician out to check our furnace out as part of our service plan (which we dont have), and today the occupant of our home was contacted directly to give SHP access to our furnace. Today when I spoke with the **** manager. He informed me that the technician who was most recently out had made notes about some things that needed tidying up. The issue of things needing tidying up was never mentioned before and the manager could not tell me specifically what these things were, but mentioned they were for our safety regarding venting and that it was a free service call. After our call, he sent me notes regarding checking the flue. On their website, Scott **** Plumbing identifies themselves as a company you can trust. Unfortunately, we are not certain about this.
