      This review is regarding a misleading business practice. I have had an account with **** for roughly ******************************************** their CD's. The have a class of "special" CD's where there is a "free one-time bump". These are CD's typically of a non-traditional term length (5, 7, 8 months rather than 3/6/9 months or 1-5 years) and if the interest rates increase during the term, you have the option of "bumping" the interest rate up to the higher rate, but can only do this one time.Unfortunately GWCU seems to be doing a bit of a bait and switch, or at least a disingenuous practice with this "special" CD. For example, is that if interest rates go up, they simply de-list their 5-month special CD, and create a new 7-month CD at the higher interest rate. They thus avoid having to bump up the interest rate of the members who already purchased a 5-month special CD.Overall I appreciate their selection of CD's, and their program of providing a higher interest rate if you have at least 50k invested in CD's or savings accounts. However this situation of advertising a special/bump CD and then not being able to actually use it due to GWCU simply changing the term length is quite unprofessional.

      They have been told by my elderly friends' husband is down in *******. He is on the account here. GoldenWest keeps on blocking the account so neither of them can get any funds. I went into the credit union with her on 4/24/23. The staff there kept blowing her under the carpet. The told her the block would be lifted in a few minutes. We went to the store and after 30 minutes her account was still blocked. We went back to the Credit union and all they did was lie to her again. She was told the block was lifted. On 4/25/23, she tried using her card again and it is still blocked. GoldenWest Credit Union NEEDS to be investigated and charged for wrongfully blocking accounts. The same thing happened to me 18 yrs ago with GoldenWest Credit Union. I left them and use ASCENT CREDIT UNION and AUFCU and have NEVER HAD AN ISSUE.Sincerely ***************************

      I was an employee with this company for several years and have been a member for several years. I was reached out to by one of their representatives saying that I qualify for a limit increase on my credit card. I decided to apply only to be then told that I do not qualify. Now I have a hard pull on my credit for no reason. This now negatively impacts my credit and decreases my chances of a limit increase in the future. I wasnt offered any other options or a lower limit then what I requested. The representative who I spoke to was nice but this credit union is very predatorial. Next time dont reach out to your members that they qualify for a limit increase only to tell them that they dont qualify leaving them with a hit in their credit. Its very disappointing as I have put in a lot of work in this company while I was employed but have reminded a member after I left.

      We have reviewed our members complaint and have additional questions in order to best assist her. We have e-mailed and called her twice with no response. If our member will return our calls/e-mails we would be happy to see if we can resolve her loan application to increase the limit on her credit card loan.
