      I had been in pain over a weekend, got into my regular dentist. I needed a root canal. He couldn't get me in for 20 days. I was in a lot of pain and was given a referral dentist, Jason H*****. He accepted my insurance and I got an appointment in three days, 24 March 2022. I was given a written estimate for the root canal, $1052 plus $116.00 if I selected "Gentle Wave" procedure to aid in healing if selected, before insurance. Was reasonable based on previous root canals with insurance paying 1/2 of given price. (I paid $467.00 for a previous 2 visit root canal.) I elected to have the "Gentle Wave" because being informed it would cleanse my tooth of infection more efficiently. I was told to take an antibiotic and come back April 12, 2022 to finish the root canal. They hadn't got with my insurance and was asked to make a payment of $250.00, so I did. I never received a bill from them. I went back 20 July 2022 with a cyst that had developed. I had a bad feeling about this dentist. I paid extra and was still having trouble with this tooth. I felt they were taking advantage of me. I asked my son to go with me for this appointment. We were given a written estimate for taking the cyst, $918.00 if collagen added. $1148.00, if bone grafting added, $1371.00 before insurance. Being under duress I agreed both procedures to aid in healing and no indent in my cheek. In conferring with my regular dentist, he never uses these procedures, only heals a few days sooner, and the indent rarely happens. They hadn't connected to my insurance and I had to make a payment of $2,289.00 being told I would be reimbursed when insurance paid. I asked for a printed statement that showed that I still owed $1,434.00. Up to this point I was told the quotes were the full charge insurance would paid and I would pay the rest. The statement they gave me had extra charges, they would not given a printout explaining the charges. I was way over charged and exploited.
