On February 24, 2023 RNR flooring located at *** ** **** ****** in Ogden utah came to our house and installed carpet in several rooms in our new construction home. As my husband and I entered the home, excited to see our new carpet, we realized that an extensive amount of damage had been done throughout the entire house. We immediately contacted the store and even had the owner personally visit our house to inspect the damage. We received a quote for both new paint and a new desk panel as both of these were brand new and we wanted them to return to their new state. The painter quoted us $1800 and the cabinet company quoted $1500 to repair the damage. The owner of the store told us that the damage was due to "inferior paint" and our desk not being properly anchored to the ground. I have attached several pictures which will demonstrate that a large portion of the damage to the baseboards has nothing to do with paint, as large portions of the wood have been chipped off. Also the scratches on our (Black Walnut) desk run from the top to the bottom, once again having nothing to do with the desk being anchored to the ground. The owner has never once apologized for the damage to our home and has persisted in passing 100% of the blame to other contractors. We have now been sent to collections because the owner refused to pay the full amount it cost us to have repairs done. Another note, the owner did offer to have a painter "who owed him a favor" to come to our house and paint it for $500. We refused because we preferred to use the painter that was familiar with our home and we felt more comfortable using. We are only asking that the amount we had to pay be credited to the amount that we owe the company.
