    I contacted HTS Builders for a quote regarding many construction defects. I had a good discussion with their estimator, who comprehended my requirements and intended use. I specifically requested an itemized quote, but upon receiving it, I found that it was categorized rather than itemized. When I raised this concern with the estimator, he explained that the quote intentionally lacked itemization due to concerns by HTS that I might use it to seek lower quotes. HTS's secretary then contacted me and stated that they would only provide an itemized quote if I paid a $200 retainer fee. I reiterated my need for the originally promised quote, clarifying that my intention was not to shop around but to receive the quote as initially discussed. Despite a promise assuring me that I would receive the quote, I received a call from another contractor referred by HTS, offering to provide a quote for the work. The contractor did not show up for the scheduled appointment. I never did receive the itemized quote I originally requested. HTS's approach has not only caused a delay but lost them $40,000 due to their insistence on a $200 retainer fee. Such crude practices do not align with sound business principles. Reputable contractors typically rely on their reputation, work quality, word-of-mouth referrals, & value. I had full intentions of using the quotes provided by HTS to obtain approval & funding for the required work. HTS’s hardball tactics resulted in a significant missed opportunity. The owner’s wife, J. H*****, displayed extremely unpleasant, unprofessional, accusatory, & dishonest behavior. Ms. H***** falsely claimed we had requested an excessively high bid. Their estimator confirmed that HTS did not proceed because they deemed the bid too low for their consideration, a fact he also communicated to me at the time. We did not, nor will we ever, use HTS Builders as I believe them to be unethical, unprofessional, and difficult to work with. Work will go to another company.

    My review and comments are a genuine expression of my opinions and experiences with HTS Builders. Work was done to provide a bid, however, I never received the itemized bid as I requested it. This review provides the details of that work. Overall, online reviews play a vital role in modern consumer decision-making and have a significant impact on businesses and industries.
