On April 18 I consulted the Frandsen Dental. I told them I had osteoporosis and needed teeth pulled and new dentures before starting Prolia.

I told the Dr R*** I couldn’t do implants because I couldn’t have the bone disturbed any more than necessary.

I didn’t find out about BONE REMOVAL until I got the insurance denial letter. They have tried twice to bill my insurance for $2084.00 for Bone Removal. A procedure never authorized, in fact my bone was not to be disturbed more than necessary. I now know what they used a drill for. Since I’d never had a drill used in any other tooth removal (3) procedures, I was confused. But my mouth was numb, and I was in pain from the position I was lying in, so asking questions wasn’t possible.

I’m 2 months out and now have jaw pain, sharp pieces on my bone line and still cannot wear the dentures they made.

I’m getting another opinion next week. But it looks like my bone is now in jeopardy from the Prolia. Something I ask Dr. R*** specifically if I was ok to have, 2 days before I had it. He said “ I don’t see why there should be any problems, I think you’ll be fine”

Interestingly I reviewed a call from the receptionist saying she had an updated treatment plan and that the insurance ahead pains more than expected. When I called back she no longer worked there.

I paid for everything up front. $1100. They keep trying to bill my insurance for over $6000. The $2000 for bone and $4000 for my dentures and a missing teeth clause. And my new dentures don’t fit. I haven’t been able to wear them.
