We purchased a new AC unit LESS than 2 weeks ago, and that next Friday our AC stopped. The guy who came out to warranty the work, spent the entire time COMPLAINING about their installers. APPARENTLY they dont know how to install their systems they sell to you. We were sold by ********************* (sales manager) we were told its not cheap to go through a company that cares. Well I dont feel cared about because our AC failed again, THE NEXT DAY after warranty work. But this fell on a Sunday, to which ANY HOUR is closed and do not even offer an emergency/on-call service. We have 2 small children in our home, that is NOT ok. So we called in at 6AM, to get a girl named ******** (supposedly the team lead) and we explained how frustrated we are and displeased with the outcome of their installers. This obviously upsets us that we spent $7,000 on something that we cant even use, so we asked her to send out their emergency technicians before it got to 100 degrees this afternoon. To which she said We have to charge $199 to have an emergency technician come out so either we have to pay this company MORE money for THEIR mistake or we have to wait until noon. When I told her that we need them to waive their fee, SHE TOLD ME SHE DOESNT HAVE A MANAGER TO REPORT THIS TO!!!!! What kind of company is this?! Letting their employees work without SUPERVISION?! Then because her feelings were hurt because I told her that this is poor customer service SHE THREATENS TO HANG UP! Because Im being rude? Yeah Im sure me being upset that I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on something that doesnt work less than 2 weeks after purchase, would make her upset too. This company EMBODIES poor service from start to end and beyond. Dont promise your customers this great experience, and completely fail when it comes to deliver. We are stuck with this company for the next 12 years because we cant have anyone else touch the unit without voiding a warranty on it. If I could leave 0 stars I would! Do better.Business Response

We hired Any Hour to install an ac unit in our home about a year ago. Its been nothing but problematic since. The system will just stop cooling as soon as the temperature outside hits the 80s. It started last summer and they came out about 4 times to repair it. We went almost 3 days at the hottest part of the summer without any ac which was bad enough. The tech they sent out was super nice and worked hard to get it running again which he did. We thought that would be the end of it. But sure enough, once the summer of 2023 started the unit began to have issues again. Theyve sent someone out about 3 times and each time they say its running how it should. We show them video and describe what happens. Then they say they need to see it happening in the moment and requested that we call them when it happens and theyll prioritize getting out here to see it and fix it. Weve done that about three times now and each time they state that theres no way for them to get out here for another FOUR DAYS. We have tried to be patient. We have tried to solve this with them but at this point something more HAS to be done! We just want our ac to function how it should or for them to just keep their word about showing up. They even no showed once so far and when we called and asked what happened, they said we called and cancelled. Nope. No we did not. We just want it fixed or replaced and if neither happens soon then we want a full refund for the system so we can take our business somewhere more reliable.Business Response

Had a perfectly working furnace keeping us warm in the middle of WINTER 2023. Technician stopped by for a scheduled tune up on Saturday afternoon 2/25/23. Technician left late afternoon, thinking all was fine. At bedtime 9 PM, when turning on furnace to keep us warm - it did not work - temp got down to 54 degrees in our home over night. Sunday AM 2/26/23 early 6 am call to ANY HOUR to get this fixed. ANY HOUR should be open ANY HOUR. Their phone message informed us ANY HOUR was closed for 24+ hours on Sundays (this would mean we would be cold for another 24 hours and freeze during another night). They would open Monday morning. Resolution would be for ANY HOUR to have a repair person at my home at 5PM Monday 2/27 as soon as I'm home from work to fix things so I don't freeze a 3rd night - and then either start Emergency Service on Sundays or change their name from ANY HOUR to something that allows people to know that they are not readily available.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I was left stranded from Friday evening until Monday at 8:20 AM unable to talk to a live person or have a live person come to my home to fix a serious issue - no heat in the middle of Winter. Sleeping both Saturday and Sunday nights in an unheated home and leaving unanswered messages and texts. My complaint is not about a broken heater it is about the misleading name of this company "Any Hour Services". This will not be resolved until the company changes their name, or actually creates a way to provide 'any hour service' - so the customer can expect at a minimum, being able to contact a live person "any hour".
Sincerely,

On July 30, 2022, my wife contacted Any Hour Services (AHS) for a water heater repair. A tech was dispatched, and he replaced the water heater, emergency shut-off valve, gas flex line and gas shut-off valve. She was quoted $3,895.00, minus a $400 discount off the cost of the water heater. Invoice *********. When I arrived home and was shown the receipt, my first question was "how did the repairman arrive at this amount?" There is no breakdown of parts and labor on the receipt. I called Any Hour Services several times requesting an itemized bill and was told they did not have an hourly charge and did not itemize parts. She said my request would be forwarded to a manager. I went to ********** and priced out the parts used. Water heater w/expansion tank $830.87, emergency shut off valve and lines $71.30, gas shut off valve $15.72 and gas flex $36.98, totaling $954.87 (full retail). This left $2940.13 for labor, or $1,336.42 per hour for the 2 hours, 20 minutes the work took (time according to AHS). I could not understand such a high labor rate and thought maybe the repairman misplaced a decimal. I could understand a $133 hourly rate. When I heard back from a manager, he repeated they did not itemize ********. The repairman charges for each individual task performed. I asked if it was possible he made a mistake. He said he would send a new receipt indicating the cost of each task. The new receipt indicated water heater replacement $2968, emergency shut off valve $313, gas shut off valve $353 and gas flex $261. However, my question now is "are these the rates if no other work is performed at the same time, or do they take into consideration the tech is already at the residence and that much of the work to replace the valves and flex lines is already part of the water heater repair?" He said he would research the charges and get back to me. It has been a month and no response. I would like the rates to be appropriately adjusted and a refund issued. Thank you.Business Response

******* Services Provides an estimate prior to the job being preformed that she signed agreeing to the price and work being done. As explained on the phone we charge a task based price system to be fair to all customers and assure they all receive the same service for the same amount of money regardless of the time it takes the tech to complete the job. The job was completed as described on the signed estimate and the invoice was signed when they paid for the work.Initial Complaint

Last spring we decided to call Any Hour to have an A/C installed. We saw an ad on TV for a free furnace upgrade with the install so figured it would be a decent deal... Estimator shows up and looks over our house both upstairs and downstairs, including our mining room on the bottom floor and shrimp/fish tanks upstairs and tries to sell up on $35K A/C system for the whole house. We couldn't afford that so he said that we can just do the upstairs since the house is divided in the middle and that would be the hottest part of the house but will still need $5k power main upgrade. We accepted the $15k job and were excited to finally have A/C rather than just window A/Cs we'd used for years with no problems. Well during the install I was already a little nervous as it seemed the guys were cutting corners and not doing a good job. (see pics!) Long story short the A/C will not cycle off during the day and cant maintain temp gets over 85 upstairs while running! Also on top of that: 1. Ducting was installed incorrectly, pulled itself loose since it was just installed into dry wall and is too short. 2. Attic fan was install incorrectly and left UNSEALED in a NEW ROOF! 3. Intake was just hacked to fit a larger intake that sits on top of a 2x4 and pulls no extra air. 4. Power bill skyrocketed to 6-$800 last summer since it can't maintain temperature and doesnt shut off. 5. Attic insulation was left a MESS! We made them aware of these issues. Ignored us all last summer with crazy hot days. Filed dispute with CC company and they pretended to want to fix this situation in the coming spring. New Tech showed up and looked it over, admitted that they have untrained hires doing jobs and that our install was not done correctly at all. He called his 2 managers and said they were going to put a plan together. After a month wait, they finally tell me it'll cost ME $1700 to fix THEIR mistake! The manager Matt B, also has an attitude like I sold myself the undersized A/C???Business Response

The Customer had options for a full system upstairs and downstairs to keep the house cooled correctly, on 4/19/2021. However, he only choose to install a full system on the upstairs level and not in the basement. The system is sized correctly for the upstairs part of the house and the ducting that already existed. The ducting can not handle anymore airflow. Our team has offered many solutions to the undersized ductwork. However, the customer had rejected all offers.
We have fixed all the repairs indicated in the pictures that he sent. We have spent over 18 hours and six different visits under warranty to try and resolve his concerns, even doing extra work for no charge to accommodate the customer.

We are happy to take care of any issue, on work completed, that you are not satisfied with.
The ducting in the house, from the original build will need to be upsized, to allow more airflow. We are happy to work with you to get this issue resolved. Howerever, there may be additional charges for the extra work needed.

I am rejecting this response because:We have talked it over and since we are not responsible in any way for the initial estimate being incorrect, as well as the installation being done incorrect, we don't feel that the entire cost of the additional work that needs to be done should be put on to us. However, we also do not want to drag this situation out as it has been long enough already. So the compromise we propose is to split the $1700 cost and we would cover half of it ($850) I think that is more than fair. Especially since, had the job been done right last summer, we would not have spent over $2000 in power running the undersized A/C.
Sincerely,
