      Ordered a coat from Backcountry with the option to return. After trying on it was oversized for me and I returned. Was informed I was outside of the return period which I was not, and then was hit with a list of issues, food smells, dirt, and other items. Which for being out of the box for 20 minutes while I tried it on and put it back is amazing. On them sending it back it had none of those issues.

      Please order anywhere but Backcountry!!! Ordered an item I then realized I didn't need it. Looked on the website and there was no way to cancel! Emailed customer support 10 minutes after ordering to cancel the item. Believe when I say this to this day customer support has not gotten back to me and the item was shipped and delivered without my consent. Awful, ************* scamming people without any ability to cancel. Please stay far away from this company!

      Bad **************** for Their Own Mistake I ordered shoes on a black Friday special. They sent the entirely wrong item and will not refund my card until I send them back. I have to use my printer ink, my paper, my gas, and my time to go wait in line at *** during Christmas to ship these back JUST to get my refund. Then, I have to wait until 5 business days after they receive them for that refund to be issued. To top it off, they no longer have the shoes for replacement so I don't even get my shoes. This was my first and my last order from this company.

I understand this whole situation has been tedious to say the least and we regret that we are out of stock of the item you ordered. We were able to confirm that this item was received back to our warehouse on 12/5. While we normally allow for 3-5 business days for returns to be processed, we have made an exception here and have processed your refund back to your original method of payment at this time. Please be advised that according to your banks policy, it may take up to 48 hours for this refund to be reflected on your bank account.

      This complaint is more of a company policy and how greedy they are. I have purchased many items before on backcountry and did not have much problem with their prices or their policies. However, recently I bought an item and then saw the same exact item for much cheaper. I contact the gearheads and they tell me that our policy for price match is 48 hours after the item gets delivered. Turns out I missed the time frame by 5 hours and simply put they would not refund me the difference. So I asked them can I return the item and purchase the item with a matched price to which they said I could. So essentially I will be shipping back an item which I will eventually receive anyways and waste unnecessary carbon emissions simply because they could not alter their company policy. I do not know whether it is greed that drives these decisions or something else, but for a company that deals with the outdoors and claims to support conservation efforts and reducing greenhouse emissions gasses, I am very disappointed. I don't plan on shopping there ever again as it seems like the company does not stand by its values nor has any interest in reducing its carbon footprint.

      I placed an order with them and was given a tracking number. I checked the tracking number daily and it showed that it was still waiting to be received from the store a week later. I contacted Backcountry and was told it was lost in the mail and they would send out another. Later that afternoon I got an mail that the product I had ordered had sold out. I dont think they ever had the product. Why all the lies?

      Hey *****, we appreciate your feedback and we apologize for the confusion. As long as a label was created on the first order, that means that the warehouse did pick, package, and load the product onto a truck. That said, occasionally things do go wrong with the shipment and it doesn't get fully scanned into their system. As far as the replacement order goes, our Gearheads must have placed the order prior to the inventory count being updated. There is a small window of lag time for the front end of the site to update its inventory information. This means that when the Gearhead placed the order, it appeared that we had one in stock. Again, I apologize for the confusion and inconvenience that this has caused. Our Gearheads would be more than happy to assist you in finding a similar product to make sure that this is resolved.
