09/08/2023 received final bill from Siding Solutions for more than what was originally agreed upon. The company refused to replace a section of gutter on which their original replacement work was below standard and unacceptable. Instead, they made terrible repairs. The whole piece should have been replaced and they would not do it without charging me, again, what they charged to replace it the first time. They also left large cloth debris in the gutter which would easily get caught in the water spout with the next storm. In addition, they did not remove and modify a drain spout as requested.

When they came to make repairs, they did not tell me they were coming and made the repairs without telling me how they planned on making them and without receiving permission from me to make them.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/23/2023

    To Whom It May Concern:

We are writing in response to a customer complaint filed against our company.

********* added two additional downspouts over and above what was originally contracted. Once they were installed, the customer complained about not wanting to pay for them. Therefore, we extended a courtesy discount covering the charge. ********* was well aware of this prior to making the final payment.

The custom originally called very upset claiming the rain gutter was not seamless as we specified it would be in the contract. After much debate, she admitted she was confused and the gutters installed were in fact seamless. From there, she expressed a concern that none of the corners had been sealed. After more deliberation, she realized they were in fact sealed (from the inside)

Then the customer expressed concerns about hand cut miters on the back bay window and asked for the factory miters which were used on the rest of the home. We tried explaining to her that factory miters are only available on 90 degree corners. The bay window miters had to be hand cut onsite. She kept stating that there were factory miters on that bay window before, so we asked for pictures.

Original install - please note the corners do not line up on the left side
and the right side has a large gap in the corner that someone had sealed
    with black caulk.

We then agreed we would send someone out to review the install and see what else we could do to meet her needs. Which we in fact did.

The homeowner then sent pictures about some roofing drip edge she wasn’t happy with. We politely responded letting her know we had nothing to do with the install of her drip edge but would be willing to fix it at no cost.

We also agreed to remove a downspout extension at the front of the home at the garage roof line - at no charge.

From this point the homeowner wanted the rain gutter on the bay window redone a third time:

We told the homeowner we would again be happy to address all of her other concerns, but if she wanted the rain gutter on the bay window redone for a third time, there would be an additional cost.
She then told us "to never step foot on her property again" - and she sent in final payment for the completed work. We took this as her acceptance of all work contracted and our scope of work fulfilled.
