My husband agreed with Jen to breed our micro mini beautiful puppy-face female golden doodle with Jen's micro mini dog, Chief, and he was given instructions to come to Utah Production to have her progesterone levels checked to determine when was the opportune time to breed our dog with Chief. After coming in twice and having our dog poked 4 times, the last time on 3/19/24, I went with my husband with the last poke resulting in a yelp from our dog and bleeding from the poke. Her levels were 14.75. Breeding occurs at 15. We were told to come back the next day. We met Chief outside before we entered Utah Reproduction. Outside the clinic, I emphatically told the owner that a 3rd jab wasn't necessary, the last one hurt her, and that she was ready to breed. The owner threw a temper tantrum, stormed into the clinic, shut the door and the window blinds were drawn. We were then instructed to talk to the breeder, Jen who treated us coldly. I explained to her that I was unaware of the expectations of the process, because it was my husband who had set all this up. She didn't care what I had to say and that it didn't matter, our dogs would not be bred that day. We had already paid Utah Reproduction $140 with nothing to show for it and were refused the breeding. If the owner had calmly explained to me the process, I would have understood; but, my question is that if my dog wasn't ready to be bred, why did the breeder have Chief brought all the way from Saratoga Springs to breed with my dog. The way my husband and I were treated was abominable. Also, when we went in the 2nd time, Utah Reproduction used our adorable dog to get a male dog all excited so that they could gather his sperm. We were never compensated for that. So, we forked out $140 for nothing and were treated very badly in the process. Also, we saw a dog coming and going each time we were there. It gave me the impression that business was so lucrative, that they didn't care about our business.
