  Shafer construction first of all lacked basic communication. They would show up one day and tell us they would be back the next day and wouldnt show up for 3 or 4 days. They wouldnt answer calls and texts when we were wondering why they werent there, and this happened on several occasions. It took them 6 weeks to only HANG (not tape or mud) roughly 500 sq ft of the 1200 sq ft job. With their lack of discipline to finish the job the completion date was pushed back 3 separate times, resulting in our termination of their contract since only 500 sq ft was hung 6 days prior to paint coming in and still needing doors base and case installed which obviously couldnt be done with the drywall not being hung taped or mudded.They covered 8 outlets, 3 light fixtures, 4 air ducts, 3 air returns ,and one exhaust fan in their lack of attention to detail. They also required half up front first to go buy materials just to pick them up, drop them off and not return for days to start the job. They did not clean up after themselves, not only construction debris but garbage from their lunch. And after the termination of their contract the following contractor still had to bring in $1800 worth of drywall to finish the job.Having given them half down for the deposit and not even half the job finished by the termination of their contract they refused to return any money and to this day has not returned phone calls or texts. Showing the true character of the personnel behind Shafer construction.If youre looking for a quality dry wall contractor to get the job done right these are NOT your guys.

  ***** & *********************, thanks for leaving a us your review from a job we did 9 months ago. Im sorry we couldnt finish your basement in 2 weeks or less so you could rent it out at the first of the month. We used the 50% you guys put down on the materials that we had delivered we had also hung half the basement and installed r/c channel throughout the basement ceiling. The framing was done by you guys and was very poorly framed. We did our best as we are very busy trying to do our best to keep all our customers happy. basement was delayed for several months we had to revise the estimate at least once for you guys as you were building the home we also squeezed you guys in our schedule last minute, and let you know that.. Unfortunately we couldnt get the basement done in the 2 weeks so you guys went another direction we are deeply sorry it didnt go as you guys had planned but we do our best to keep everyone informed thank again for your review have a great one.
