      March *****, 2024: BEWARE! We had a terrible experience with Affordable (aka: Economy) Rent-a-Car from start to finish.We arrived in very cold, windy weather to wait 35 minutes for the shuttle to take us to the lot. We called 2-3 times to remind them that we were waiting and freezing. We were charged $200 rental deposit and were required to show proof of our insurance (not just insurance company and policy# like most places but must show what you have covered). We had to go online to pull up the information from Nationwide. We took out the extra insurance on Expedia, also. We examined the car with the employee, and there were lots of scratches and some small dents. All recorded on paper and signed. We left and did minimal driving, as we were there for a sporting event that lasted all weekend, and we mostly stayed in place with a few trips for food and IKEA.We brought the car back and were told that we had a rock chip on the front windshield. We looked at the windshield and yes, there was a tiny rock chip, but we had not checked windows in our incoming inspection - learned from that mistake! We disagreed and they said that it was our fault that the chip was in the windshield, and we had to sign a form taking responsibility. We refused to sign and were told repeatedly that we had to sign. We wouldn't sign, because we didn't think we were responsible. They said that they had VIDEO of the car before we rented it and we could see it...however they never let us look at any video. I asked for a copy of the video, and they said that I could NOT have it. We received the email bill today with $50 line item for the windshield chip added to the bill.They are cheaper because once you bring the car back, they find things to add to your bill.
