Public Partnerships LLC contracted with Project Controls, Inc DBA as Computer Assistant on 01/04/2024 to remove and ship computer equipment from Lacey, WA to Alpharetta, GA. The engagement resulted in damage to most of the equipment due to improper packing and lack of care by Computer Assistant. Three items of greatest value were two MS Surface HUBs and a Cannon Copier (pictured below) valued at approximately thirty thousand dollars for replacement. PPL’s procurement person has made numerous attempts to work with Computer Assistant’s, Carol P****** to file claims with UPS who Computer Assistant selected and used as the packing and shipping vendor. When the equipment arrived in Alpharetta, GA we discovered the damage and contacted Carol and met with a complete lack of professionalism. Her immediate feedback to PPL was for us to file a claim UPS and when asked what the insurance coverage we were met with silence. Our position is Computer Assistant should be working with UPS to cover the damage to the equipment as Computer Assistant transported to and hired UPS to ship PPL’s equipment. On a separate shipment Computer Assistant sent a copier as Freight, due to size, and was directed by PPL’s procurement to place $10,000 insurance before shipping. Carol was able to find insurance at an additional cost to PPL. The copier was shipped and appeared to be in one piece when it arrived, so feedback was given it survived the shipping. However, when the packing was removed the touch screen was broken as well as the upper tray. We recently had a technician come to the office to repair the device and it cannot be repaired. PPL procurement opened a claim with State Farm the insurance carrier hired by Carol and shortly after PPL procurement opening the claim Carol P****** instructed State Farm to cancel the claim. PPL is holding payment of their invoices until such time as our dispute with them has been settled. We have not paid Computer Assistant for the invoices sent to us for their services and shipping due to their failure to complete the requested services completely, which includes working through the damaged equipment claims. On 3/1/2024 we received a collection notice from Altus Receivables Management, the Computer Assistant’s collection agency. Public Partnerships LLC do not typically lodge complaints against other businesses, but the lack of professionalism and partnership has forced us to file this complaint before engaging external legal counsel. We do appreciate your assistance with this complaint and would be more than willing to provide you with more detail. Below are some pictures of the damage and communications of what we contracted and initial feedback to Computer Assistant.
