      after reading other reviews i have to concur the u of u is the absolute worst, I've been trying to get help with a diagnosis for about 3 months now and have had to cancel multiple dr appointments because I'm waiting to get on a program or any type of insurance so I can get treatment and medication. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor but of course all you get nowadays is voicemails so I either don't get the help and risk an early death because of the unprofessionalism displayed by the u of u and its infectious diseases department or maybe it's because I'm a minority trying to do better than settle for not getting help. I'm frustrated and appalled that even after being admitted to the hospital (while I'm immunocompromised) the drs that admitted me were more concerned about me getting treatment for something completely unrelated to why I was admitted to begin with. This is an egregious afront as again i am trying to actively seek help.

      OK - where to begin-Well I agree with another complaint I read , which was that I had 0 help with my newborn at this hospital. The only rest a new mom could possibly get is from the hospital right after she gives birth - you are not going to get that here.Anyway, the main point I wanted to make is that the way doctors appointments are handled here is a nightmare!You have to go through a series of people to get an appointment. When you go to the appointment you have to explain to two more people why you are seeing the doctor. ( I think they might be nurse and physician assistant)They then ask you if it is OK if a resident comes in and if you say no the resident comes in anyway. Now you have to explain why youre there again to doctor and resident. This is humiliating if you are asking for help for an embarrassing problem! I also have had an appointment that I have made 5 months in advance canceled 2 weeks before the appointment with no option for another doctor to fill in. If you need additional blood tests or any other test , you are sent around to all these other places on all different dates. In short , all of this is very inconvenient and a big waste of my time. It seems that money and teaching their residents is prioritized way before the patient. I hope I never end up there ever again!

      I dont recommend ******************************* in psychiatry , shes always late to appointments , doesnt care about your well-being , wont prescribe you what you need and lies about it. *** already filed a complaint through ******.
