I parked in a near empty lot next to Gracie's on a Sunday afternoon after seeing two signs with large letters "Public Parking". You cannot read the smaller print when the vehicle is moving. I had to make a left turn, and then a U-turn to get into the lot. My arrival time was 11:30 and my brother was in the lot already. We spoke for a couple of minutes before going into Gracie's where we met other family members. It was my first time there. Shortly after entering the building, my sister informed us that the lot was a pay lot and we would get a ticket if we didn't pay for parking. My brother and I then exited the building, and we saw a man taking a picture of the back of a vehicle. We both got into our cars and moved them to city parking on the street. After entering Gracie's a second time, my brother came in and informed me he already had a ticket. He then checked my vehicle and found a ticket on it. I hadn't seen the ticket, and I wouldn't be surprised if the man put it on my window after I moved it to the street. The sign is very deceptive. I probably might have noticed the smaller print about paying when I entered the lot, but I didn't pay attention to that sign, because of seeing the South-facing sign when I was driving Northbound. Note the image of the other sign in the lot across the street, "Parking Fee Required ..." This lot is also owned by the same company. It seemed as though the man was observing people who entered the building who hadn't paid and immediately writing tickets. I know he overheard my brother and I talking about not knowing the lot was a pay lot. At that time he could have told us to pay and rescinded our tickets. This whole practice seemed very shady. I came outside while waiting for our food to hope to see the man again, and several people exited the building and they all had tickets on their cars. This made it very apparent the signs are deceptive. The sign should also have to state the $45 fee charged if you get a ticket.

Within 1 minute of leaving the car, we had received a ticket for 45 dollars. We met several other people who had payed for a parking pass and still been ticketed on their way back to their vehicles also. I honestly am not sure if this is a scam or a real business.

The electronic machines where you pay for parking do not work. This occurred on 04/22/2023 around 5:00 pm. When I swiped my card the machine leads you to believe the parking is paid for but in actuality there is no ticket issued. The pay machines are near ********************* So I received a parking violation for 45 dollars which must be paid within 14 days or it jumps to a $90 fine! The employees at Squatters can back me up on this as I asked them about it......
