      Ragnar Team

I am writing to express my disappointment and share my concern regarding my recent experience with you. As a loyal customer of your products/services for several years, I have always held Ragnar Races in high regard for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, my most recent interaction has left me feeling quite disheartened.

I recently tried to move my race to another one given there are several life circumstances that mean I cannot participate. It pains me to say that this situation has not met the high standards I have come to associate with your brand. There are no other team members to move this race to so the options are quite limited at this time. I am one of those Ragnar captains that people gravitate to in order to participate and have driven countless teams into the community.

I do want to emphasize that my intention in writing this email is not to criticize or cast a negative light on your company. Rather, I believe in the potential of Ragnar to rectify this situation and reaffirm its dedication to customer happiness.

I kindly request that you look into this matter and provide a resolution that addresses my concerns appropriately. Whether that involves escalation to a more senior person to make a final decision, a transition to another race, a refund, or any other suitable remedy, I am open to discussing a fair solution. I firmly believe that resolving this issue will not only retain a loyal customer but also help maintain the excellent reputation that Ragnar has built over the years.

I am confident that you will handle this matter with the professionalism and attention to detail that I have come to expect from your team. I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution to this unfortunate incident.

Thank you for your time and understanding

Registered to run the Ragnar Trail SoCal (San Diego) in 2020, registration fee of $390. This particular event was canceled and I requested/received a voucher to defer my registration fee for a later event. Re-registered for the Ragnar Trail SoCal 2022 event (November 2022) and recently incurred a severe hamstring injury that will prohibit participation in the 30+ mile trail running event. I reported the injury to Ragnar admin staff and they informed me that they have a strict "no refund" policy, and they will not recode my registration fee voucher to be used for a later event. The other options were for me to participate in the event in Florida (I live in San Diego which is why I registered for the San Diego race event) or to have my running partner run the event by himself. I can understand not wanting to refund the money but to not find a way to make an exception for a running team that sustained serious injury is unreasonable and unacceptable. Both my running partner and I are military veterans of 22 and 23 years and had not bothered to disclose that information to Ragnar but it shouldn't matter. No one should just be disregarded for a simple admin function. If the DOD can allow for exception to policy on COVID-19 vaccinations than a small business can easily find an accommodation for race participants who sustain an injury, not just deciding to back out of the race. In the past I've run both California Ragnar Road Relays, Oahu Trail, Tahoe Trail and SoCal Trail as well as the 7 Summits Challenge and Run Around the Moon virtual challenges with Ragnar with no issues.

I was Active-Duty military at the time and 7 other Marines and I (8 total) pooled our money together to participate in the Ragnar Trail Richmond event in 2020, totaling ($1,440 ($180each)) - I paid with my CC and my teammates paid me. This event was cancelled due to Covid and later rescheduled for September 2021. I was emailed a deferral code in May 2021, but once I received the dates for the new event, all but a couple members of my team had moved out of the area or were unavailable to participate. Additionally, we had the option of selecting a race at another venue, but still, we were active duty and spread out all over the place. So, I ended up absorbing the entire cost because I refunded my friend's/coworkers money. Now, I couldn't run if I wanted to because of a medical issue that I will be compensated for by the VA. I have reached out to Ragnar on several occasions during the last year and half to try and receive a refund but to no avail. You cannot actually speak with anyone, but only email or leave a message. I have emailed - no response, and I left at least two messages with a synopsis of my situation and all contact of my info but no one has reached out. All I want is a refund. I didn't cause Covid and cannot control military members' orders or duty assignments. Thank you.
