Took my vehicle to this place because I had heard their name for years. Quoted me $5897.97 to rebuild my trans after having the car for 2 weeks. I told them no thanks I would go a different route. Took them 2 additional weeks to get vehicle ready for me to pick up. When I arrived I found that none of my trans parts or anything that had been removed in order to take out the trans had been put back or boxed or just put in the vehicle. They just left if all there for me to load in their shop(pretty sure this is an OSHA violation). Once I finally got what I thought was all my parts loaded in to the car I noticed that my engine was just sitting on the under carrage and pulled out from the front motor mount, when I asked about it I was told that they were not responsible since it was my choice to take the car with the job incomplete. We argued back and forth for a minute and finally I decided it was time to check out. That was when I was told that the original price for looking at it($568.97) was not the actual price being charged. They ended up charging me $685. Not sure what the $685 covered, when I questioned what it was for I was given several different responses with none of them being completely forthcoming and explaining the additional charges. Then *** asked what I planed on doing with my car, I said I found another rebuild company that could do it for $2156.00 with a better warranty. He told me that I was full of it and that he found that hard to believe, I told him I could show him but he didn't care to see this. After getting vehicle home and going through the parts I found several things missing including the torque converter, so I went back. They were willing to give me a torque converter with hesitation but not willing to part with any other parts stating that they have no way of confirming that I was missing them. I said why would I want a bunch of extra bolts and nuts, I just want what was mine that they took off the vehicle so I could get it running.

Worst experience ever. 1st problem told me $3000 actual price $7100. 2nd $25 per quart oil $300. 3rd 4 weeks now, every time I call get same answer "WAITING ON PART". Still no truck. I am a business owner as well but I don't know for how long now losing customers every day now. To top it off I had to refinance my truck to pay for this outrageous amount but guess what I haven't had my truck to make the first F%#^ PAYMENT. on the new loan. But Tanner Transmission got there payment. Any lawyer that thinks I have a law suit please let me know.

I took my car to the Sunset location. I was told "good news, it's not the transmission it's the torqe converter". That the part would take just a couple days to get there and I should have the car back by the end of the week. It then took two more weeks. When I picked it up it cost me $1800.00 and was told to drive it 500 miles and check for leaks. I went back before the end of the week because it was shifting extremely hard. The service manager told me that the computer needed to reteach itself and give it another 500 miles. I went back in after another 500 miles and told him it seems to be worse and could there be a chance it was low on transmission fluid. He told me he just had to top it off, a couple quarts was all it needed. Weird because my receipt says the put a little over 7 quarts in? I told him something is not right. He then told me he would need it for a day to just tweek some things.I dropped it off the next morning at by the end of the day I had received no call back. I called the next day and he said it still needed work. On the third day a called and was told it still wasn't ready. I asked what the delay was, he then got extremely irritated with me and told me all of the work he was doing was for free. I told him it wasn't fixed right in the first place. He then told me I could pick up the car, he was done. He was leaving the keys in the car, come get it. When I got there he had parked my car right up to the road with the key laying on the seat, mind you my car will not lock when the keys are inside and no-one was there. When I got in and drove off it was worse than when I left it. The next day I took it to the dealer. I was told the transmission was done after they test drove it. After tearing it down they then informed me that the transfer case had been JB wielded and that is what had ruined the transmission. Tanner transmission did this and have refused to pay for the transfer case. Don't take your car here! Terrible service all the way around
