    My child is attending college in **** and her car overheated with fluid leaking out of a hole in the radiator. I advised her to call around and get quotes.This shop would not give a quote over the phone for the replacement cost of a new radiator. Every shop knows the estimated amount of time to replace a given part on different makes and models of cars. By giving the estimated repair time and price for shop hours doesnt allow places like this to take advantage of folks who dont know better. Needing the car to be fixed, my daughter took her car in. She received a call later in the day that she needed a new radiator and the total cost would be $690. The vehicle was completed the same day and no longer overheats. When my child called and told me the final price, I was flabbergasted. The same part number radiator is available for ******. The same cap is available for *****. So is there a 30% price markup only on things that someone naive to car parts wouldnt question. I called the Napa and they said the new radiator comes with a cap. The coolant service kit had me scratching my head. Napa doesnt sell a coolant service kit. These are common tools used for coolant servicing. I liken this to the mechanic needing common wrenches for the repair and putting the cost of those tools from their Snap-On supplier on your bill.Aside from unnecessary and unexplained charges added, the repair was completed as should be expected. If you dont mind over paying and being taken advantage of, they'll get you back on the road.
