Legacy Tree Genealogists were hired to investigate genealogy using DNA and information provided, with the aim of finding my biological father. From the initial communication, it was clear they were committed to the project's outcome. The Advanced Project Manager, *************************, ensured timely communication from the researcher and kept the me updated on the project's progress. Questions were addressed seriously, and complete answers were given within the timeline set for the project. Legacy Tree Genealogists provided professional service and are recommended for anyone seeking answers to genealogical questions.

5 starsI have been actively engaged in genealogical research since 1963. In 1970 I was Accredited by the **************************** - now Emeritus. Over the years I have used professional researchers for the really difficult problems. I have been very pleased with the quality of work by Legacy Tree Genealogists. I am now in the midst of my eighth research project with them in the past three years. Most of the research has been done in the area of former ***********, ******* - now western ******. Previously I had done my own field work in the region and worked with professional researchers there. Legacy Tree Genealogists is the real deal! Legacy Tree is not inexpensive, but they came up with documented results in the search for my German heritage. They kept in contact and were very pleasant to work with. I wish my initial fee would have gone further, but without Legacy Tree I would not have been able to fill in the blanks. I live in the ** so visiting German churches, etc., was not possible for me. I definitely recommend Legay Tree. Just be clear with your expectations and work with them to reach an understanding of just how much they might be able to do for you.Legacy Tree Genealogists

I'm writing a complaint to warn others. First contacted LTG seeking help in finding my maternal family history in ******* during WWll era. I was clear with them up front that the search required a very narrow expertise and would be difficult without good contacts. I have read the prior complaints about this company and mine is essentially identical. Perhaps calling them a scam is too strong of language, but to me, it was a total scam. At first contact it was evident that money was mentioned too often, on the very first email, there was "time still available" "time allotted" almost before I had finished submitting the research already performed by other professionals. Soon as the the $2700 was in their hand the calls/emails went off a cliff. I think they were lying about the qualifications of the researcher and her contacts, but will never know because she went only by first name. Didn't take long to realize they were submitting small artifacts of information that were from previous research. Towards the end months later it was becoming clear they had done absolutely nothing to help me. Realized they really didn't intend to do anything more except ask for another $1000+. The last email they sent me was an invoice for another $120. Almost $3000.00-money I'd saved to do more searches in *******/******, which is expensive, and had planned so many years. Could just cry to think of how I wasted this money. What my message is to others: Do not allow yourselves to be deceived. Don't fall for the sweet talk or phony words of understanding. This is about money-they want yours too, and they will have you sign paperwork that basically absolves them of any responsibility. Take this seriously before you give them a cent. Ask for full names. You have every right to know who the "wizard" behind that curtain is. You have a right to speak directly to the person doing the research, do not be misled. Believe me, they will soak you. As weve already privately communicated to you:"We understand your disappointment, which we share, in not being able to find more records on [ancestor's name removed for privacy] within the allotted time of this project. We have used your valuable project time as efficiently as possible in having our Polish onsite researcher visit two different archives and search the most relevant available record collections. We have allowed time for this in-person search and for the various churches to respond, which is why there have been stretches of time with no news. We have discussed options with you and allowed you to weigh in on research decisions. We have packed as much effort as possible into the time of your project, and the final report will provide all the details of the search to account for that time, as well as specific recommendations for future research. We respect your budget, but we are also obligated to explain the next best steps in case you decide to continue on your own or you decide to pay for more research at a future date. We will get that report ready to share with you as soon as possible."With regards to not knowing the full name or credentials of your researcher it seems there is some confusion here. In her research plan dated 2/12, your researcher sent you the following:"My name is *******************. I have more than ten years research experience and hold a masters degree in library and information sciences. I research in the ************* and ************** with a particular interest in immigration patterns."If you conduct an online search for ***** name it will bring you to various websites that talk more about Keris training and credentials.As you mentioned when you first began this research, you had already done a substantial amount of work on your own, and had exhausted most options available to you. Because of the time youve already committed to this research, Im sure you understand that a 25-hour project can only get so far. Our team truly did the best they could to find new information, and were hopeful that once you read the full report (which is ready to deliver to you as soon as the pre-authorized expenses of $120 you were invoiced for are paid) you will be able to understand and appreciate all the work that went into this. CAUTION_ DO NOT HIRE a research services from this company.I hired the *** in 2022 for research for my grandfather birth certificate in *****. I suported the researcher's team with two marriage certificate, one stated that my grandfather was born in CDIZ (This was my GOAL set) and the church certificate stated that he was born in *****. I've done myself a research in ***** and there was not the place because I requested already to the civil registry and they sent a "negative certificate". I purchased a package of 25h from Legacy Tree Genealogists which costs U$2750. They ignored my original GOAL they have searched only in 2 places in **** and then tried to find something in *****. They simply shifted my GOAL on researching in CDIZ. The client when interested on purchasing a package has to make a full deposit in order to get the research started. LEGACY TREE GENEALOGISTS are a FRAUD. I halted the research and still waiting for my refund of hours left. They will go through their own resources such as data, archives etc, they do not make any onsite research. If you are reading this review pay attention that you can do it by yourself just go to FAMILYSEARCH.ORG and you can start your research. What they do is useless and do not worth the money. They provided a ridiculous services and do not care about customer satisfaction. DO NOT THROW YOUR MONEY THROUGH THE WINDOW. To sum up Legacy Tree Genealogists act like this : They offer their service (terrible) in researching your ancestors and if the customer did not find it satisfactory then it's not the Legacy Tree Genealogists problem anymore. They assum they are the best company in the world and they do not admit they make mistakes. I truly would like to advice you dear friend DO NOT HIRE ANY SERVICES OF THIS COMPANY. The staff is very kind and offers best solutions for ones who are interested into expanding their family trees. I unfortunately was not available to finish the project with Legacy Tree Genealogists because of budget problems and getting access to informations on my own. If you only have few information about your family they have the best staff to do so. I would recommend them to anyone also because of variety of packages available.Legacy Tree Genealogists

I have been researching both sides of my Family since 2017. I had gone to the home turf in ************, ******* in 2016 and found a 6th cousin. I was able to do this feat because my 2nd cousin had spent over 10 years of research before I started. I used her data in the book to visit and find those cousins. I used a electronic system and hired two different researchers living in *******.who were affiliated with that platform. The info that all persons dealing with my mother's side were not accurate and these two researched could not find the originating city/town/burg/village of my Mother's side. Legacy Tree did it. They provided the information (marriage, baptismal, birth town) I feel confident of the accuracy with this data. I truly recommend using Legacy Tree to help locate ancestors in *******!Legacy Tree Genealogists

I was able to find out information about my family tree that I wouldn't have been able to gather on my own. I was able to add several generations of a particular line of my family tree, and share that information with the older generations in my family - a special gift. They were highly communicative through out the process and accomplished what they set out to do before their deadline.Legacy Tree Genealogists

My research project was done in two stages. While it took a considerable amount of time to complete, ****, my Legacy Tree contact, kept me informed every step of the way. I started this engagement because I knew very little about any of my family earlier than a couple of my grandparents. Legacy Tree was able to fill in the blanks in my family tree in some cases back to the ****s. I highly recommend Legacy Tree if you have a passion about exploring your roots.Legacy Tree Genealogists
