On 7/12/24 I brought my rv for a simple transmission service and oil change. I was charged $1,806.13 I told them I was from out of town and just purchased the rv and needed a service before returning home. Told them I needed it within the week. They said no problem. After getting the rv back I drove to Vancouver Washington where I had I scheduled an apt with a well known rv shop in Vancouver Washington for a full tune up and diagnostic testing on 8/12/24 after doing a full inspection of the vehicle they showed me pictures of the transmission pan leaking and advised that I needed a transmission service. I told them I just had that done in Salt Lake City at just over 1k miles ago. They then instructed me to contact the shop and see if they would cover the cost of fixing the gasket considering I was still well within the shops warranty period. The mechanic at the transmaster shop asked me why the new shop didn’t just fix the issue while we were there and when I asked him why he didn’t just do that them selves I was then told to f*ck off and I should stick my dipstick up my a**. The shop in Vancouver had a very similar phone call with the owner of transmasters transmission in Salt Lake City. Very rude and aggressive over the phone when asking about the warranty work. I even have audio recording of this conversation being told to f*ck off. My vehicle is well within the warranty of the work that was done and they refuse to honor their warranty. This shop is a complete scam. I would highly recommend staying far away from this mechanic and shop.

the accusations from mr benson are incorrect. mr benson called and said that he had  his rv at a shop in oregon and it was leaking. we asked for this shop to contact us and send us picture or video of leak. they declined to do do this and claimed that the pan gasket was leaking and it would be 600.00 dollars to fix leak. this was a very large amount for a repair we had all ready taken care of. we informed mr benson that the shop that he was at seemed un cooperative and seemed to want to take advantage of him. we also informed him that if pan was leaking it may just need to be re torqed. the shop also refused to look at this option. we have text messages of conversation if needed. we asked mr benson to get a second opinion we felt like the shop was not being honest. we were willing to help resolve the problem but had no cooperation on the other end.

I am rejecting this response because:

After having transmasters in salt lake city work on the RV. I drove to Oregon where I live. Realizing I needed further work done on the RV I set an appointment with a reputable shop in Washington. Once I arrived at the shop they completed the work I had requested and also gave me a full courtesy inspection on the entire vehicle. they showed me pictures of all the the points of inspection that needed to be addressed. they showed me that the transmission  gasket was leaking pretty heavily from the pan gasket. I told them i just had this done less then 1k miles ago in salt lake city. they advised me i should contact the shop and see if they would cover the labor for the shop in Washington to take care of this since it was in fact well within the warranty period. I contacted transmasters in salt lake city and spoke with Kerri who was actually quite helpful. he told me to have the shop contact him. When i spoke to the shop in Washington that day they said they were busy and it wouldn't be until the next day they would be able to call.

fast forward to the next day. I called transmasters again to let them know that rons auto would be calling them in about an hour. That is when I was received by a new person on the phone. he told me he was the mechanic that worked on the RV and that it was impossible that it was leaking. He tried to convince me that the new shop was taking advantage of me. and that they should have just finished his job for free that at transmaster didn't complete from the beginning.  Followed by him threatening me and telling me to stick my dipstick up my as.

This shop transmasters claims there is text messages but there was never any communications whatsoever through text messages. I have video and pictures of the leaking pan gasket, audio recording of the mechanic threatening me. and a full point inspection and willingness from the new shop to actually be transparent with me about the fact that this work needed attention.

I would also like to point out that transmasters claims that $600 to fix the the transmission pan gasket is a large amount when they in fact charged me more then double to begin with the do work they didn't even do correctly. which I now have to pay another shop to complete there work.

When I brought my RV into transmasters I had what I thought was a shifting issue. I told them that I think it might be the shifting solenoid but I wasn't sure. I asked them to diagnose the issue for me so we could get it taken care of.  They ran with this information and sold me on the shift solenoid when I in fact didn't even need one. When I picked the vehicle up they told me it runs great and shifts like butter. everything had been fixed.  However It was still doing exactly what it was doing before I brought it in. ultimately It needed a tune up and what I thought was a shifting issue was in fact had nothing to do with the transmission. It ended up being a timing issue and idling rough. They did not actually diagnose any issue they just sold me on the part that I came there and said that I thought I needed. To me that is a shop that takes advantage of customers! Instead of actually finding and fixing the problem they just sold me on the first thing they could sell me on and then didn't even do there job correctly leaving me to have another shop to fix there work.

    Sincerely,

    Samuel Benson
