On September 5th we dropped our sweet puppy ***** off for a 3 week board and train at Timberland Dog Training owned by Zoey B****. Yesterday morning, September 17th, we received a text from Zoey stating,
”This morning I took ***** out to the bathroom and he started acting like he hurt his back left foot so just to be safe I’m going to take him to the vet this morning.“
After hours of waiting we received a call from the vet stating that ***** had a broken femur. We called Zoey to see what happened and she told us that she tied his leash to the door and turned to “prepare” his food. Mind you this lady asked me to individually package 66 meals so her “preparing” his food would have taken 1 minute. Anyways, she said when she turned
back around she noticed that he was holding his back leg and that’s all she knows. We have had 2 vets and the surgeon say that they do not believe her story. The break is so severe that there is a possibility that we will have to amputate his leg. At the end of this we are going to be looking at about 10k in vet bills. We asked Zoey to split the bills with us and she is not willing to contribute a dime. She won’t even refund us unless we sign a contract releasing her from all liability. This has been an absolute horrible 48 hours and their complete lack of empathy is despicable.
Please share so nobody makes the same mistake I did.
We verified with the city of saratoga springs and Timberland Dog Training Co. doesn’t have any of the required documents, permits, license, etc. Additionally she is running her “business” out of a rental. If she is in breach of her rental agreement she could be evicted.
