      Chanshare has an agreement with our builder to provide 2000 SQ Feet of sod for the new homes that are going into my subdivision. We ordered close to $800 in additional sod to cover the additional areas that we needed.

      Unfortunately our SOD arrived covered in a grass weed called nutsedge. A week after install, the majority of all of my new sod was covered. After reaching out to 3 separate landscape companies, I was told that the SOD was poor quality and they had never seen anything that bad. Some of them even took pictures to share the horror story with others.

      After reaching out to Chanshare, we were told that this was very common and that we should treat the new sod with an herbicide. There are a few problems with that statement:

      First, we are surrounded by dozens of homes putting in their sod at the same time. None of them have had the same issue. All of the landscapers I spoke with told me that they ordered SOD from a different locations because Chanshare SOD is “Garbage”.

      Second, if my entire lawn is almost completely covered in nutsedge, the result of killing all of the nutsedge will leave me with a lawn that is almost all entirely dead. Not to mention the amount of stress it will put on the small portions of good turf.

      Finally, nutsedge is not easy to kill over a single season. Purchased SOD should not arrive completely infected with weeds and I should not be expected to struggle to resolve a problem for years.

      The result of this nightmare is that I have to pay a company to remove all of the new sod after having already paid them for laying the original sod. I also had to order all new SOD from another vendor.

      This will cost thousands of dollars and will set me back weeks. Chanshare needs to Step up and reimburse me for the SOD to help cover the thousands of dollars that they cost me. They took advantage of me and did not provide me with what I was expecting.
