    Complaint Summary:
    As a former Spa Director at New Image Day and Med Spa, I am reporting unethical and exploitative workplace practices that reflect poorly on this business’s treatment of its staff. I was promoted internally to a director role without any formal training or adequate compensation. I was expected to work excessive hours, often responding to clients and staff after hours and covering shifts on the floor without additional pay.

    I was misclassified as a salaried employee, even though my role involved non-exempt duties such as front desk coverage, client services, and micromanaged scheduling. I was not paid for overtime, was required to purchase and use my personal laptop and phone for company operations, and was treated unprofessionally by leadership when I advocated for fair pay and support.

    After returning from a approved vacation, I was blindsided with a demotion and told I would be placed under the same manager who had previously mistreated me and shown poor leadership.

    These practices violate fair labor standards and reflect a toxic management culture. I am filing this complaint so that potential employees and clients are aware of these internal issues and that this business be held accountable for their mistreatment of staff.
