      This complaint is against a towing company. I was legally parked. The company knew they had towed my vehicle in error and they didn't return it. I was late to work because it wasn't returned and they had no one on staff to return it to me when I called in the morning. The worst part about it is that they knew it was towed incorrectly and didn't proactively return the vehicle. The company towed my vehicle because they said they thought there was not a parking pass on the rearview mirror. The pass was there, but it was behind my UDOT expresspass. They took a picture from the perfect angle where the express pass would obscure most of the pass but, even in their picture, the pass was slightly visible. I took a picture before getting in the vehicle at the lot and it was obvious they didn't look very hard. When I called into the company and gave them the make and model of my vehicle, they told me that one of the drivers had towed it in error. Another driver had told him that the pass was on the rearview mirror. The other driver knew because he hadn't seen it upon initial inspection but that he did see it once he took the time to look at an angle so as to better see behind the express pass. They didn't have a driver available to bring it back to me and so I had to take an Uber to the lot in order to pick up my car. They did pay the cost of the Uber. However, I was over 1.5 hours late to work. I understand that honest mistakes are made. However, I think that they should do what it takes to make it right by 1) returning the car as soon as it was identified that the car was legally parked and 2) issuing a credit or payment for the impact to my livelihood. I am filing this complaint because they are responsible for what cars get towed and it is not right to tow cars that are legally parked and impact peoples livelihood. I have photos from the towing company and my own photos from the time of pickup are attached.
