    We decided we needed to replace the bark which covered the outer borders of our back yard. We contacted Biograss and decided that the shredded bark needed to be covered with a medium bark which would last longer. We figured about 7-8 yds. The area was 177 ft by 5 ft by 3 inches deep minus the area where the plants and bushes were. There is one lineal run of 133 ft. and another of 44 ft. Biograss suggested we get our neighbors or a scout troop to do it and gave us the name of two contractors if we couldn't get anyone else. They thought they would give us a reasonable price since they recommended a lot of customers to them. The first was Pedro who did not respond to our calls. The other was Sergio, owner of New Horizons Landscape, LLC. He came out and suggested 8 yds and made an estimate that his labor could go as high as $600. if he worked from sunrise to sundown which I figure would be 10-12 hrs. When I asked him if it would take that long he indicated he would charge the hourly rate which I figured would be $13/hr. We had neighbors who offered to help but they were building a garage and our grandchildren were unable to help. Upon contacting Biograss they indicated we would only need 7 yds. We purchased the 7 yds and it was delivered on June 15, 2022. We contacted the contractor and let him know it was here but we would be working on it in the mean time. It took me about 3 hrs to move and spread 1 1/2 yds of the bark. Sergio and one other fellow arrived at 6:30 a.m. on June 16, 2022. They finished the work at 8:15 a.m. for a total of 1 hr and 45 min. Seeing that they had finished and I was sick at the time, I sent my wife out to ask what we owed and Sergio said $600. She asked what she should do and I told her to go ahead and write a check. I tried to call Sergio several times but he didn't answer my calls. I feel like I have been scammed and respectfully request a refund of $500. Travel time between here and his business is 15-20 min.
