  Subject: Complaint against Excel Prep Academy's Manager - Unethical Conduct and Unfulfilled Promises We are writing to express our complete dissatisfaction with Excel Preparatory Academy, a daycare facility located at **** ***** **** ****, Alexandria, VA *****, and its manager, *** **** ** ******** **. This complaint is being filed with the BBB to bring to light an unresolved issue, with the aim of collecting money owed to us by Excel Prep Academy based on the agreement we had with *** ********. On January 7th, 2022, we enrolled our two children in this daycare, with one child scheduled to start in August 2022 and the other in January 2023, paying a total of $4,978.58, which included registration fees and the first month's tuition. I expected quality care and a professional environment. However, my experience with *** ******** has been nothing short of a nightmare. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to cancel our children's enrollment in June 2022, well before their scheduled start dates. We approached *** ******** to discuss the possibility of obtaining a refund, acknowledging that the contract stated no refunds. *** ******** initially appeared understanding and agreed to issue a refund due to the exceptional circumstances. He promised to refund the fees once another family took my children's spots. After a family did, in fact, fill the spots, *** ******** completely changed his tune. *** ******** has yet to refund the remaining balance of $2,750. Despite multiple attempts to contact *** ********, he has chosen to ignore our emails, and messages. His unresponsiveness and unethical behavior have caused us significant distress and financial strain. It is important to note that we have emails and text messages as evidence to support our claim that *** ******** committed to refunding the money. When we realized that he was reneging on his promise, we requested contact information for the Excel Prep Academy's Board and their legal representative to escalate the matter. However, *** ******** refused to provide us with this information, banned us from visiting the facility, and eventually stopped responding to our communication attempts altogether. It is my belief that Excel Prep Academy, under the management of *** **** ** ******** **., is operating in a dishonest and unprofessional manner. The blatant disregard for our agreement and the subsequent avoidance tactics employed by *** ******** are, in our opinion, a clear indication of a con artist's behavior. Parents entrusting their children to Excel Prep Academy should be aware of this type of deceitful conduct. We kindly request that the Better Business Bureau investigates this matter and takes appropriate action against Excel Prep Academy and *** **** ** ******** **. for their unethical practices. I hope that this complaint will help to prevent other families from experiencing the same distress and financial loss that I have endured.
