Transaction Date was 01/03/24 and delivery date was 01/10/24. Class A motorhome was presented as completely inspected and all necessary repairs made. I test drove it and inquired about the roof. I was assured roof had no leaks. After delivery I discovered 4 leaks. 3 were minor but 1 was major. Obviously the 1 major **** had been going on for some time. Lurking behind some wallpaper I discovered a large area that was rotten and covered in mold. I sent pictures of it to *************************, the salesman, and he assured me he'd discuss it with his boss. In addition, he was supposed to send me the Title but a week went by and I still have not received it. I tried to resolve it with him (I have my texts) but he continually made promises that he did not keep. So, I came to the point of frustration where I just gave up and stopped communicating with him. So I'm hoping you can assist me in resolving this.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/07/2024

We are very disappointed to hear about ****************** claims. We've been in business for over 36 years and pride ourselves in treating our customers with fairness, honesty, and transparency. We want all of our customers to be happy and have their purchases provide a lifetime of positive memories- which is the case with the vast majority of our purchasers. But unfortunately for a small percentage, the pre-owned recreational vehicles don't always live up to that end of the bargain. We will not dispute ****************** honesty, but in fairness, we have not physically seen the damage that he claims to be present.

To better describe the transaction, we acted as a broker for a bank as the seller in this transaction. We represented the coach as a bank repossession. As we do with all of our coaches, we had performed an independent  safety inspection (VSI), allowed for a thorough inspection of the coach and its systems, and performed test drive with ************** prior to the closing. We also allow and encourage detailed inspections by independent third-party inspectors who may work on behalf of the prospective purchaser should buyers feel unable to judge the condition of the coach independently. To my knowledge a 3rd party inspection was not performed in this instance.  Additionally and prior to closing, ************** signed an acceptance of the ** where are we again disclosed in writing that we are representing this coach for a bank and don't possess the knowledge or history that an owner or dealer would typically have. The acceptance further is an attestation that the purchaser has completed any and all inspections, is satisfied with the condition of the coach, and are accepting it in its as-is and where-is condition. We offer this acceptance to make it abundantly clear and transparent to a purchaser that we are representing a third party and do not own the coach. Accordingly, it should be understood  that we would never intentionally mis-represent a product that we don't own as we have absolutely nothing to gain from doing so, but ample to lose.

Again we are very sorry to hear about ****************** issue. As we acted as a broker for a bank who was representing this coach as a repossession and being sold in AS-IS condition, unfortunately we are unable to offer any further consideration to the purchaser. Again, we absolutely regret that he is in the minority of people who are displeased with their purchase.  We certainly wish him and his family the best and that they are able to easily resolve any issues with the coach.
