    We purchased a Black Labrador Retriever, River, from ********************* at Rockn Ridge Retrievers in January 2022. When River was four (4) months old, she bit one of my children. We immediately contacted **************, who is the breeder, to express our concern and ask for guidance. We tried working through the problem with **************** instruction. The problem persisted and in July 2022 ************** offered to work with River to try and break the food aggression. He told us that if he was unable to gain significant improvement with her food aggression in a few days then we would only have to pay $30.00 a day for boarding. If he was able to correct her behavior, he would charge $60.00 per day. When we picked up River, I paid him the $60.00 a day for a total of $420.00. He told me that he was able to gain significant improvement, so I trusted him. Two (2) days after we picked up River, she bit another one of my kids. My wife reached back out to him to try and come up with a plan moving forward because purchasing an aggressive family dog was unacceptable. ************** was very passive aggressive starting early on with my wife regarding the whole situation. We paid a premium of $2,200 to purchase River because ************** gave us valid reasons to believe that we were getting what we paid for. He said that he has sold over 500 dogs. He eventually went from passive aggressive to straight out blaming us for purchasing a dog that we could not handle. He has no basis for his assumptions and is completely wrong about is accusations. I have been able to speak with a couple other breeders and trainers and have received a very different approach. I have asked ************** three (3) times to refund the over payment of $210 we paid. He has not responded. I understand there are a several things that were frustrating to me about how he handled this situation and most of which I can not change. However, it is clear that he owes us $210 for the overpayment of his attempt to fix the food aggression.
