The "exterminator" doing the inspection DID NOT inspect. Rather he walked around and left, didn't even check the open shed. Another company came to complete the inspection in which TWO DIFFERENT wood eating insects were found! Still, ******, the "owner" of ****** exterminator *** sent me two different bills. When I explained this to ******, he told me he would keep billing and take me to court. He also told me that I didn't have the money to fight him in court s***e I couldn't pay the bill.

    Business Response

We performed a **** inspection for this person at the request of the finance company whom she was refinancing the home. We initially inspected the home in June of 2024. The finance company called AFTER the inspection was performed and said they needed the shed and other buildings inspected also. I informed them that a new ****(an official state document) had to be completed and we would need to make another trip out to the house. Since there would be a new form and a second visit to the house I informed the representative that there would be a charge for these services. At this point I heard nothing else from the finance company or the homeowner.

Another company inspected this property over 30 days later and found evidence of wood boring beetles. The only way to tell that these beetles are active is to see active frass on the wood. If there was active frass, then they infested the home between our initial inspection and the second companys inspection.

Our technician performed a thorough inspection of the property. The homeowners mother actually followed him around and he was showing her where there was limited access to the floor joists because of the finished basement.

I was contacted months later with regards to this bill. The homeowner said that the finance company could not be reached and that she was not going to pay for the inspection as she did not have the money to pay for it. I suggested that she try and contact them to make payment if they had agreed to pay it in her loan.

We sent a second bill to the homeowner at which time she told me she could not reach the finance company and she would not be paying the bill as she didnt have any money to pay it. I informed her that there would be late charges assessed until the balance was paid. At which time she told me to take me to court and then followed with actually Ill take you to court. I then asked her how she would pay for a lawyer if she didnt have the money to pay for a simple inspection fee.

The homeowner seems to be having issues with the finance company and unfortunately seems to be taking her frustrations out on our company.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I did not receive an offer, ratjher, ****** was not truthful in his response. The worker did not inspect thoroughly, in fact, he did not inspect over half of the basement to include my mother's living quarters and where the wood destroying bettles were found. I also feel as if ****** continues to belittle me, stating I cannot afford to go to court or pay him. I am disappointed in how ****** treats veterans and runs his business. I believe I am not responsible to pay for a job that was not complete.

    Regards,

    ****** Trace
