I was needing a WELL dug and called Bedford Well. Jason one of the owners came out to the property to give an estimate. It was higher than the others i received. ******* ***** highly recommended them, whom i have purchased my home from.
I choice a different company but it fell through. I went back to Bedford Well and was advised that i put up 6,300 dollars up front to show good faith. I was never given a date to when they would start. I was told by their secretary Amber that she would call me within a week to give me a date.
Check was written on 6/8/23 for 6,300 dollars, Amber had given me a receipt. But she never followed through on getting me on the schedule. I called a week later Amber blamed ******* ***** for not sending the paperwork, which they had done when i spoke with Juan, Manager of ******* *****(they were fabulous). Juan called Jason the owner and he called Amber and she then blamed me for not doing my part by notifying Clayton Homes, which i did on 6/8/23.
I cancelled my order and still have not received my check back. Very bad business to deal with. Amber the secretary does not represent the company well.

Ms. ******* on 6/08/23, you came into our office and turned your signed estimate and contract. At that time, Amber stated that we were 4-6 weeks out with drilling. As you stated to Amber at that time, you had another company previously come out to the property and drill a well which wasn't successful. Amber then spoke with Jason and Jason stated another site visit needed to be done due to a well being drilled and our company wasn't aware of the placement of that well. On 6/14/23, you call Amber and she relayed to you that she had left a message with ******* ***** for a copy of permit. You stated you were calling Andrew and having him send over the permit. She also emailed Juan at ******* ***** requesting the permit, Juan replied via email stating ******* ***** did not have the copy of permit and CC Kenny *******, your elected OSE, that drew your permit. Kenny sent over the permit 6/15/23, which was also the day you called requesting a refund as you claimed you hadn't been given a date. As Amber stated in the beginning of process being the estimated was 4-6 weeks, an exact date couldn't be given but that she would call 24-48 hours prior to our equipment arriving on site unless an event happened that we were going to get there sooner. Exp. sites access isn't ready, weather etc. Per Virginia state law, a well drilling company can't drill a well without an approved well permit. Our contract states deposit are non-refundable. We gave an exemption after speaking with Juan due to him explaining the trouble you had been going through to get a well drilled. We stated in writing to you, that it would take 30-45 business days for our accountant to get the check out to you. As of today, it's been 33 business days since we submitted the refund request. While we didn't have to agree to a refund per our contract, we understood the situation and cared for the urgency of your well needing drilled to be able to move until your new home.

Bedford drilled a new well for me about a year and half ago, the only positives i can say is i do have water and the new lady in the office actually now answers the phone or responds to you. Its the craziest thing, the phone rings and she actually picks it up and talks to you. Its crazy. The first year you could only reach them by email or text, no one answered the phone. You left a voicemail and they would decide whether or not to call you. I've spent a year and half trying to get them to correct sloppy hookup work they left me with. I think the problem was with the prior office staff dropping the ball, but i shouldn't have pay for someone elses incompetence. Since week one I notified them of an issue and was completely ignored for months. At first they were busy on other jobs, told me they would have one of the guys call me which never happened. Then months later they told me for them to come correct the issue i had pay a service fee and open ended labor costs for something that has been ongoing since the install. Basically give them a blank check again, nope ive been down that road with them before.
Service fees and labor fees should be charged for something that was beyond their control, not for sloppy workmanship. I had to spend months on a waiting list and ipaid almost $16k. The sad thing is both are probably simple fixes for them. Hire anyone else but them for the hookup, ******, ********, *******, anyone else but Bedford for the hookup. Maybe the owner will respond to me directly when he reads this, not leave me dealing with an in-between person, honestly by now he should have called me personally. He has my number
