I was told I would have to pay $1000 deposit to just get a quote and that if we decided not to build with them we would be refunded the $1000…for a modular home me and my wife were interested in. We decided to not go this route and have requested the return of $1000. No phone call answer or text answer. I have tried “Chip” the manager and sale rep “Debbie” I deal with a lot of customers in my profession and a verbal agreement means just that please stick to what was promised or stop asking for a deposit so you won’t have to be two-faced when things don’t go the “company” way.

See response from Customer was a misunderstanding and the customers check has been sent out by Yates Homes
You can inform Scott it was a timely misunderstanding. I overreacted too quickly due to our past communication times. I do apologize if this has harmed your career or anyone else’s please point whom ever in my direction I will gladly correct any questions or concerns about the situation. I will be waiting for the $1000 check and that phone call once it’s in route.
    Sincerely,
    Lee

I concur with Todd in his review, in our current dealings. It has been an utter nightmare. A very long list of issues. I will update my review, once I see how and if our issues are resolved, as they have not been at this time.

This rating is a lie! We just moved into a home from Yates. Dealing with this company has been an utter nightmare. It was given to us with one non-operating toilet, a potentially dangerous stove that is not working (possibly the wiring) , and a dysfunctional dishwasher. This company even tried to overbill us by $1,000 on a well driller I engaged and we let them pay for convenience at their recommendation. When we caught them, they changed their tune; this is well documented. They knew when we were required to move into the home months before that day (6/16/23) but caused delays that became a very stressful situation for us. I have been a GC on a home like we got (a manufactured home) and intimately involved in the building of 5-6 homes of my own. I also have a construction lending background. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life with the exception of a divorce and family member deaths. If you consider this company, DON'T!!!! I had to sit here an see my wife crying about this and that's not how she typically handles such stress. PLEASE do consider this and go in with your eyes open. There are many better alternatives and we wish we had chosen one of them.

In regard to the stove, refrigerator and toilet not operating . This is something that was not brought to our attention until I read this post. On Tuesday May 30th the Sales Person and myself met the customer for a “walk thru” and these items were operational and not mentioned that I am aware of.. Yates Service Tech is scheduled to go out to do normal service from the “punch list” given to us that day. We fully intend on checking the appliances again along with the toilet to see if there are any challenges. If so, these will be repaired if possible or may need to be turned over to *********  by the customer as normal process.
In regard to the accusation of Yates attempting to overbill on the well. This is not true! Yates normal practices are to add a mark up to subcontracted work as how we make a profit for our services. In this situation after the price of the well was more than normal because of the depth we decided upon review to give the customer the well at the contractor’s cost. We showed him the well drillers invoice and deleted any mark up.
The customer addressed to our sales person that they needed to be in the house 6/16/23. In Yates contract, we “do not” give any guarantees to the date of possession. We always try to meet the date the customer request and if anyway possible and in this case “we did”. It was a time frame of 63 days from installation of the home to Certificate of Occupancy 6/6/23 and Yates gave possession to the home to the customer on 6/16/23 as he requested.
Yates is very sorry for any misunderstandings or inconveniences between Yates and the customer.
