    Sept 7th, Patriot Chimney came to clean our wood stove flu. The (very) heavy wood stove was moved from its spot, thus scratching the honed granite it sits on and not moved back to its original spot and the wood stove not completely cleaned. The stove pipe just above it was removed, scratched and screws stripped.. He was never on the roof so the stove cap is still creosote encrusted and the flu not cleaned. We paid 250.00. I received an email Sept 9th from Matt the owner saying there is a one year warranty. I emailed him back explaining my concerns but have heard nothing.

    On 03/22/2023, made downpayment of $2,305.00 for 3 chimney caps to Patriot Chimney they were to order for us. We were told they would be installed on 4/17/2023. On that morning I got email saying all the caps had not been received yet would have to reschedule at a later date. I called many times or emailed them and got very few responses. Now I have been told they are
    probably not in business anymore. I only want our money back or the 3 chimney caps they were
    supposed to obtain for us. Please help us if you can!!

    Patriot Chimney improperly installed a chimney cap on our house less than 1 year ago. They subsequently have come back out to our house 4 times to look at, but not fix, the problem. They now refuse to answer my multiple calls and texts. I would like for them to come back and repair the chimney cap that they installed.

    I hired Patriot Chimney to build a cricket. Issues after installation include: Cricket is over the frame. There is no counter flashing underneath. Patriot used non-grade material on the roof. They did not install a J-channel. There are eight exposed nails. They used tape instead of step flashing, tape and silicon, which is not appropriate for roofs. They did not lace the valley, nor built caps and did not tuck it behind the siding of the chimney.
    Patriot used black rather than heather, like the rest of the roof.
    This company had a no-show when I asked them to come out an inspect the work they did, which I was told was their protocol for unsatisfied customers seeking a refund.
    Patriot continues to not respond to emails, nor return phone calls.
    I recently learned that the director of administration, ******** ********, whom I had been in correspondence with, is no longer with them company. Matt Blackmon, the person that did the “work” has stopped communicating with me. I have had three independent, different roofing company’s inspect what Patriot Chimney did and they all agrees the work was done in a nonprofessional and very poor workmanship.
    I started a case with DPOR in January but have not heard back.

    Patriot Chimney's owner, Matt, first came to our home in 2022 to fix our gas fireplace. It was turning our logs black. He examined the flue, stated that is wasn't that dirty and recommended a new log fireplace set. We purchased the recommended set from Matt and he installed it. The first winter, 2022, it sporadically turned itself off. We don't use it much, so this fall we called him and explained the problem. He first sent out two installers but the fireplace did not turn off while they were here. They left, but the same day we called the office to tell them it had turned off shortly after they left. Matt came out and observed it going out automatically. He took all the logs off it, then did something to it, then told us to let us know whether it was still turning off. He had me his cell number to text him. The fireplace continued turning off, so I texted him. No response. Texted him a few days later, no response. A week later, no response. My wife and I have both tried calling. I had to leave a message. My wife spoke to the receptionist and told her about the issue which she found very surprising and told her we'd hear back soon. That was two weeks ago. No response. We believe the fireplace Matt installed is defective and he has left us hanging with it with no other recourse except to issue this complaint. We would like him to return and replace the fireplace he put in with one that works. That's it. That's all we're asking. And to have the common courtesy to respond to our text messages/phone calls. This has been the worst customer service I've experience with any contractor in Roanoke.

    My husband and I schedule for a fireplace insert to be installed at our home. We paid a $4,800.00 deposit in January 2023 & scheduled a service to be done the following month, for mid February 2023. My husband had took the day off & waited for them to show up and no one did, but later than the scheduled time someone called & said they couldn't come because someone had quit recently, even though they sent us a service reminder via email the day before. We have been trying to get in contact with anyone from this business via the phone & emails. We have left messages & we have gotten no answers as to when we can get this service completed. The deposit is supposedly non-refundable, but no work has been done. We also agreed to pay $2,000 when the service was completed and if this ever gets done, I do not feel it is right that we pay the $2,000 after this experience. If they are unable to complete this service, we want our $4,800 refunded. My husband is an Army veteran & we were trying to support this veteran owned business. We both feel this is not right & that we have been wronged.

    We accepted an estimate on 10/12/2022 for work to be done on our fireplace/chimney. We provided a deposit of $4897.00. The company started the job in December, but has yet to complete it. We have contacted the company on multiple occasions over the past several months with little communication in return. In January we were told our wood stove had shipped. We have had no communication since that time. They have not returned our phone calls, emails or texts messages. We would like to have the job finished or a refund for the deposit.
