Overdraft protection, I have banked with fcb for over a year . I have never had overdraft protection. Then recently they let a charge go thru and charged me. I called they said no I don't have overdraft protection and they said I understood them wrong when they were explaining it, then I told them it's not true I never had overdraft protection..then they looked and noticed I didn't so then they told me it was added jan 2025 ..I didn't add it it was added with put my knowledge. I told them I didn't want overdraft privilege now I'm negative 500$ . I don't know how they added overdraft protection with out my knowledge I didn't ask for or sign up for it. I have the chat messages from the customer service line.. the woman at the wytheville location are wonderful..when I called back it was after hours so it was the 800# and chat online with 2 really rude liars . Can the bank add overdraft protection without my knowledge? I told them I was filing a complaint with bbb they said it was added by then in jan 2025 ..they are still letting charges go thru

I received a check from the US Dept of Treasury. I do online banking through *****. When I attempted to deposit any check through ***** they said it would take 10 days. I needed the money for tires so my father said I could deposit the money into his account. He endorsed the back of the check also. You will see my endorsement on the attachments. We went to the ATM because the bank was closed. It was a Saturday afternoon. We deposited it into his account at the ATM. It showed as a pending deposit on Saturday and Sunday. Monday came and it was no longer showing on his account. We thought they may be holding it for 10 days which some banks do. On Wednesday we went to to the bank to see if there was a problem. We were first told the check had been mailed to my home address then I received a call saying it was at the local bank. We went to the local bank to get the check but they refused to give it to me. They also refused to deposit it. and told they would not deposit it since I wasn't not on the account and I had already endorsed it. If they didn't deposit the check or cash the check I don't see how it is legal not to give me the check back. They showed me the check. It was in the safe but refused to let me have it. I refused to leave without it. The police were called and I was told I was trespassing and needed to leave. Is it not stealing for them to keep my check? Is that legal ? The check isn't voided so I don't know what to do. I just want my check. I will cash it at a different institution. That is exactly what I told them. My dad even offered to put me on his account so they couldn't use that as an excuse .

My father's name is ****** ******* in case you need his information.

On 11/17/22 I contacted First Community Bank to close a secondary checking and savings account and was advised by customer service rep, ****** that I would need to bring both accounts to a Zero dollar balance and the accounts would need to go through one posting cycle before I could request my accounts be closed. I brought both checking and savings accounts to a Zero balance and on 11/21/22 requested my accounts be closed, again with ******. She confirmed via chat she had notified the branch and that my accounts would be closed.
On 11/25/22 I received a notification that my checking account had been overdrawn. Overdrawn by charges FCB allowed to post via a debit card that had been locked, and to an account, I had assumed was closed. I contacted FCB via phone and spoke to (*****? I did not capture her name fully) Explained the situation to her and was told the charges would be reversed and my accounts would be closed.
Later that morning, ***** from the local FCB branch called me to tell me my accounts weren't closed because she had attempted to contact me to discuss and I did not answer her call, in the middle of a workday. I asked to speak to her manager and was directed to *****. ***** advised I would need to bring the accounts back to a $0 balance and they would close my accounts. I went to the ********** Location and paid cash for the balance to post immediately. I also requested a signed document from ***** stating these are closed, which he provided.

On 12/1/2022 I received a notification that my, checking acct with FCB is overdrawn due to an FCB service charge.. Why is this account STILL not closed? My assumption at this point is there is malicious intent for fraudulent activity to occur in my name.
