    I filed a claim with ********, with a date of loss, 12/25/2022. Restoration 1, now Broadstone Restoration, is requesting that I pay additional funds above and beyond what ******** has approved and paid. The ******** adjuster, **** ****, has advised that the amount is excessive and the company is not due any additional funds. The company is now pursuing me to pay the difference of $2870.21.

    Based on our work contract it states we use a modified Xactimate price list. Both the company and most insurance carriers use this exact program. However, insurance carriers go with a standardized baseline price list and do not want to honor Xactimates user agreement. Which states that the price list in Xactimate is merely a starting point and should not be used as the rule. Contractors are instructed to make their own price list based on their respective businesses overhead. Based on our contract we bill the insurance carrier as a courtesy, but that any remaining balance is due by the homeowner. This is why we are pursuing a remaining balance of $2870.21 because that is what the insurance shorted Mrs. ****** on her insurance claim.
