Failure on mechanic too have the wear with all on car repairs.Went to Jiffy Lube in ******** for a State Inspection of the vehicle. I was given an Rejection Sticker for 1 light bulb out on my rear license plate. This inspection is based on for the proper operation of your vehicle for safety. 1 light bulb on the license plate is not a safety issue!I told the inspector to please fix the bulb. I was told that they could not get the bulb. I contacted Jiffy Lube's district manager and told that they would order the bulb. I stated I would be back a week from today to Monday Morning 9/24/24. They fixed the issue and charged me over ***** dollars. They replaced the entire assembly for the light bulb. I immediately went to the auto parts store and they had replacement bulbs! So my question to all review readers is...How many people have they ripped off??

For this particular inspection issue, it was the bulb assembly and bulbs that needed to be replaced.  These were ordered from the parts store and delivered as needed.  We carry a number of light bulbs in the location and if it was simply a bulb issue, they would have changed those out.  We cannot refund for a part that was needed to pass inspection.

My boyfriend took my 21 ** Atlas in for a routine oil change on August 6, 2024 to the jiffy lube #**** in ***************, ** . After an extended amout of time he asked the staff what was going on and they said they were waiting on a part. That part ended up being a new plug. Which they never spoke about until he started asking questions. Then they were claiming that it was already stripped when they took it out the truck. I just had my vehicle repair at the ** shop July 12, 2024 bc when I purchased the vehicle whoever changed the oil at the dealership ran the plug too far in to the tank. This jiffy lube shop was the shop that diagnosed the issue for me the first time. After the new plug was placed in the truck the manager *** suggested that it would possibly leaking again. So my boyfriend refused to drive it and had it towed to **. After ** inspected it they found they placed a aftermarket plug in the truck and the drain plug was in fact stripped. A claim was filed (#********) and the locations denied everything. They are blaming ** for issues. Since i picked my truck up from ** in July I had not had any issues after picking up my truck. This goes along with how after the issuses arised the female ** was being completely rude during the whole process. While the staff were actually said they could've made the mistake. Which *** said that you have to be very careful removing and placing the plug. On August 17, 2024. I drove my truck to the store and smelled oil burning and under my truck was wet and i seen the smoke from the oil burning from underneath. I have include all repair slips. Im looking to have my oil pan replace along with being reimbursed for tow and rental car expenses. Ive been going to jiffy lube for so many years and im so shocked at the actions of the ** of all people at this location. When it could have been a easy fix if they would've took accountability for a mistake that could've easily been made.

Based on the complaint itself, ** did have a issue when she bought it.  They apparently corrected the problem.  When it came to our location a few weeks later, there was still a stripped drain plug in the pan.  Our procedure is to replace stripped plugs if possible as they are sometimes just wear and tear issues.  Stating in the document, they took to VW and had repaired.  Then they showed back up at Jiffy Lube smelling smoke and burning.  We were not the last to touch this vehicle and based on the complaint above, we are not taking responsibility for the dealers mistakes.

They damaged my vehicle during an oil change, but are refusing to take responsibility and fix it.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/07/2022

So I went in for an oil change, and upon entry into the bay, I had specifically asked the employees not to lower my hood of my car after the oil change. That I would come out and lower it myself, because it is a $1200 hood.
Upon the completion of the oil change, I entered the bay to lower my hood and noticed that one of the employees decided to take it upon themselves to lower my hood, anyways, resulting in breaking a crucial piece that secures my hood to the vehicle. I had immediately asked them, who was the one that decided to close the hood when I specifically asked him not to, and nobody would fess up. So I had the manager on duty, called the district manager, and was told that he would look into the video tape footage within the next two days Tuesday came around and I heard nothing so I texted the district manager and he called me back stating that he reviewed the footage and does not see where the employee had damaged my car. And I was basically told there was nothing that he was going to do for me. I am basically asking for the cost of the repair or the repair done to my vehicle that they have damaged. They are guilty of doing it. They know they did it and I would like something done. One of the employees even called AutoZone across the street to get them to bring us some Apoxsee so I could try and temporarily fix the broken piece. If they werent guilty of breaking the peace in the first place, then why would they get some Apoxsee to try and fix it?

In response to the recent complaint on our Seminole Trail location by ******************, we have denied the damage was done by our employees. Upon watching internal cameras, it was not our employee that pressed the hood down, but *******************  He forced it down hard.  Due to the fact that we have video evidence of the customer slamming down his own hood, we do not have any reason to correct any issue that has arisen and will continue to deny any responsibility for damage.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

      Regards,

      ***********************

I do not except the business as a response to deny my complaint. I have since had to remove my carbon fiber hood and replace it with the original stock. OEM hood as the carbon fiber hood will no longer work on my vehicle. The employees were, in fact, the ones to break the hood, and they know this. It is all on camera! And if they are in fact, claiming that they have video footage, then I request that they release the entire footage. As it will clearly be seen and heard on video that I went out to the bay  and asked specifically who broke my hood.
