Miss diagnosed my dog after rushing her to emergency vet. Was charged 663.00 that is after I told them I was taking her some where else.
On the 9th I came home to find my furbaby shaking and thought she was having seizures. Rushed her to Town and Country Vet. After waiting 10 unites they took her back and then after about 30 minutes called my self and my son in and wanted information on her. Brought an estimate of 864.00 to do blood work and give meds. Came back in said she was severely dehydrated and very high sodium and had to give her injection to stop shaking. Brought another estimated of 2300 to 2500 and wanted to keep her and did not know if she would make it just keep saying that.
I called a vet in the town I live in and he said bring her to him. I told them I was not paying that price and was taking her to another vet. I paid 663.00 and they brought her strapped down on a stretcher semi sedated to my vehicle. Drove her to other vet. The medicines Town and County gave her wore off and she started drinking water.
The second vet knew exactly what was wrong. One steroid shot and one shot of antibotics and he gave her prescriptions for steroids and antibotics. She had milk fever Brought on by lime disease. She has puppies and he stated that they usually get that around 3 1/2 weeks after delivery and she was luckly she got sick 4 weeks after. She is currently being treated for lime disease.
The next morning she was back to her self no tremors and drinking and eating.
Town and Country did absolutely nothing but maybe give her fluids, and leave the iv cath in her leg. It was wrapped to tight and tape was stuck to her fur and to iv cath ports, even if they would of needed to give her fluids they could not.
I feel that 663.00 was over paid when I had to pay for a great vet to make my firbaby well again.

4th Pic is from 2nd vet.

To Whom It May Concern,Attached are the medical records and invoice for the care that Ms. ****** dog, ****, received at Town and Country Veterinary Clinic on June 9th, 2024. **** was brought in on an emergency basis on a Sunday due to seizures. Dr. ******, a licensed veterinarian, provided **** with an emergency exam. ****  received emergency care, including the placement of an IV catheter, administration of a bolus of fluids, and an injection of midazolam to stop the seizures. Blood work revealed that **** had Lyme disease and life-threatening sodium levels. It was recommended that **** be hospitalized due to the severity of her seizures and high sodium levels. The bloodwork performed on **** did not support a diagnosis of "milk fever," which is characterized by extremely low blood calcium levels. ****'s blood calcium levels were normal at the time of presentation. An estimate of care was provided to the owner, who decided to take **** to her regular veterinarian. We understand that the owner felt the charges were high and chose to take **** to another veterinary clinic. However, the services provided were necessary to stabilize ****'s condition and ensure she was safe for transport. The treatment plan and costs were communicated transparently, and the owner was given the option to seek care elsewhere, which they did.Regarding the client's complaint, we wish to clarify the following points:Emergency Care and Stabilization: **** was brought in with severe symptoms that required immediate attention. Our team acted promptly to stabilize her, which included IV fluids and medication to control her seizures.Diagnosis and Recommendations: ****'s blood work indicated Lyme disease and high sodium levels, which justified our recommendations for hospitalization and further treatment. The diagnosis of "milk fever" was not supported by the bloodwork results at our clinic.Communication and Consent: The owner was informed of the estimated costs for ****'s care and consented to the initial treatment. When they decided to seek a second opinion, we ensured **** was stable for transport. As the owner and medical director of Town and Country, I believe that the care provided by Dr. ****** was appropriate, and additional care was recommended based on ****'s condition at the time. I am glad to hear she received the necessary care and is now doing well. If there are any further concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.Sincerely,Kelly Burdette, DVM Owner and Medical DirectorTown and Country Veterinary Clinic
