      DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! THE TECH THAT CAME OUT WAS SHADY AF, the business itself is extremely unprofessional.
      Called Ashcraft on 11/09/22 to get my Astria electric fireplace fixed. I suspected it was a bad gas valve, but wanted a professional to confirm and fix.
      When the tech came out, he fiddled with the valve, and a bunch of other stuff, & determined it was in fact a bad gas valve. He said it would be $950 to fix the valve. I asked him why it was so much, and he defensively said that it was parts and labor. Now, I knew that the parts couldn't be that expensive because I had already went online and found the valve on another site for $175.00 and they do next day shipping. I told my husband that I thought it would have been better to buy the part and hire someone else to install; but he made the executive decision to have this guy fix it because he was already there. I paid him $300 as a deposit to come back once the part came in.
      After another 4 weeks of continuous calling to check on the part that I was told would take a week, it still hadn't come in.
      I went to look at the part number on the gas valve again because I'm selling the house in another week. Wouldn't you know it, the tech REPLACED the original gas valve with a completely different valve & took the original with him when he left. I called to ask for the part number and he refused to give me it. Luckily, I had taken pictures of the original and was a able to compare side by side.
      I ended up ordering the valve on December 8th, it arrived December 12th. I found Proper Plumbing Services (Glenn Swann) through a family friend and he came over as soon as the part arrived. It took Glenn about 2 hours & $250 to completely fix the fireplace. He apologized that it took so long & said he had difficulty because there were wires that were disconnected and put back in the wrong place. The tech from Ashcraft had intentionally swapped out the cords so another tech couldn't fix it.
