On July 11, 2024 Jeff Case from Central VA Mulching visited my property and assessed the area to be mulched and said it’s $250 an hr with a 6hr minimum of mulching. On this visit, Jeff did not mention anything about sharpening teeth or having to refuel his machine on my expense. On 9/4/24 ******, from Central VA Mulching arrived at approximately 0905hrs. At approx 0910hrs I explained mulching area to ******. I had to explain where to mulch at least three more times to ****** because he either seemed confused or misunderstood. When stopped, ****** also talked about unnecessary things on my expense. At 1310hrs Mulching stopped to refuel and sharpen teeth. I called Jeff and he said it takes about 25-30 min to refuel and sharpen teeth’s and that one full tank of gas is good for about 6hrs. However, at this point ****** has only mulched for approx 3hrs 15min. At 1411hrs Mulching started again, 1hr 30min downtime. At 1630hrs Mulching stopped. Jeff claims and admits that fueling for his really big machine is normal every 6 hours, and that if he arrives on your property at 1/2 a tank, he has to refuel at 3hrs in. So if your machine has the ability to run for 6hrs on a full tank of gas, and your minimum mulching is 6hrs, why would you arrive on a customers property with only a half a tank? Obviously this forces you to stop your machine in order to refuel at the customers expense. If his minimum is 6hrs of mulching, it’s only fair that we get 6 whole hours of mulching. His machine should be topped off on fuel with thoroughly sharpened teeth and ready to perform for at least 6hrs upon entering our property. And the claim that we have a lot of rocks is completely false. Upon Jeff’s initial assessment he never mentioned anything about a lot of rocks on my property, nor did he mentioned that it’s a 6hr minimum, minus 1 1/2hr for refueling, sharpening teeth and possibly forgetting where to mulch. I would like to be reimbursed $312 for 1hr 15min of unnecessary/unfair downtime.
