I am writing to lodge a complaint against Bug Busters Company in *********, ***On April 15, I contacted Bug Busters to schedule a pest control service. The staff scheduled me for April 19 and informed me the initial charge would be $85, which I paid. I was told this fee covered both a consultation and one service, and that someone would follow up to confirm the appointment. No one contacted me, so I called on the morning of April 19. A staff member eventually came but did not perform any services or inspect the property. Instead, he spoke with my husband, informing him we needed to pay an additional $80 and monthly fees, information not communicated beforehand.The staff member was rude when we declined to continue with their services due to these unexpected charges. As a result, I disputed the $85 charge with my bank because Bug Busters did not fulfill their service as promised. Bug Busters later contacted us, insisting we pay the $85 despite their failure to provide the agreed-upon services and clear information.This experience was highly unprofessional and misleading. I am seeking the BBB's assistance in resolving this matter with Bug Busters.Thank you for your attention to this complaint.Business Response

After performing an investigation on this account, it was discovered that the assessment fee was relayed properly to the customer. Our assessment fee is $85, which includes an inspection to the structure and a written proposal for ongoing services. At the time of the inspection, we allow the inspection fee to go towards the initial service. I have reached out to the customer, left a message, texted and emailed informing them I have waived the assessment fee in order to rectify this situation. In August 2023, I contacted Bug Busters asking them to discontinue our $99 monthly pest control service and stop auto-debiting our account. We spoke with customer Service Supervisor, ****. ** continues charging us for services through November 2023, though we had repeatedly contacted them to and they ensured it had been taken care of.Business Response

On 7/12/2022 I signed a Residential Pest Control Service Agreement on July 12, 2022. On 10/2022 I called Bug Busters and requested to speak with ***************************** who signed me up for the one-year service. When I called to speak with ******* the clerk stated that she would give him the message. I waited for his call and never received the call. I called again to Bug Busters to tell them I do not want different individuals coming out to my home because the ones who set the traps should return to remove those traps they set, each time I had to tell them where the traps were some traps, I did know because of the attic that I could not go because of an knee injury. The last person they sent out was new a trainee which I did not sign up for I told him something is dead in my home because of the bad smell, he said it could be my septic tank, well it was not my septic tank it was a trap set in the bedroom with a dead rat for days and I had to remove the trap that the first service man who was sent out to my home. He was removed from servicing my home and those other service men did nothing, also the second service man came out and I complain about whoever he is putting around my window is drawing flies she made and excuse and said that it will draw the flies and they will take it back to where they live to kill the others, I didn't believe him. Why would I pay for a service that is pretending to service pest control and charge you for their service that has not been rendered in my resident. Especially when I have to do the service myself by removing a rat from the trap that was set by Bug Busters when I inform the last service man that was sent out to my resident at **************************************************************, the traps that was set by Bug Busters when someone comes out, they should know already where these traps have been set. My first payment was $310 when I signed the agreement and $65 a month. I am requesting a full refund. I am still dealing with the pest problems and have to block off some entrances that I think the pest is entering in and guest asking me why I have things block off. It is very embarrassing to pay for a service that I did not receive. And to be ignored I told Bug Busters do not send anyone back to my resident. I will never do business with Bug Busters again and I will not give any referral to Bug Busters for the way I as a consumer have been treated as a customer. I request the agreement to be void because the services that I have received from on July 12, 2022, to be cancel due to the pest control service that was not rendered and the fact that I had to remove a dead Rat from Bug Busters Trap and the fact that I told the last service man that something was dead in my home his comment was it could be my septic tank which is unacceptableBusiness Response

We have attempted to reach back out to her to discuss the matter of her requested refund. We will continue to try to contact her so this matter can be resolved.

On July 12, 2022 I signed a contract with Bug Busters ***************************** was the one who signed me up because of some mice problems inside the home and in the crawl space. The service was good at first, but when someone else took over the contract something was put on the outside of my home that draw files, then a bad smell of dead mice which I brought it to the attention of the newly assigned person to my home. He stated that he did not know where the dead smell was coming from. I called the office and spoke with ******* and left a message for ***************************** to give me a call this was 3 weeks ago, I never receive a call from *****************************. I am a customer I have a right to let him know that I am displease with the service I am now receiving. There are funds taken from my checking account monthly for a service I am not please with a mice trap that has not been remove of the dead mice inside my home. I would like to speak with the one who signed me up, Bug Busters started out good, but when they re-assigned these new individuals to come inside my home. I am cancelling the services until further notice so that I can get the service I am paying for. And I do not feel safe with these individuals inside of my home. My complaint is I am not getting the service I am paying for dead mice are left behind...
