    I purchased a course in November 2023. It was presented as a course to certify you as a Biblical Counselor. This was false and misleading. Due to the instunot being accredited I cannot use it to file as a Biblical Counselor in my state. I called on January 16th and was told that since I never opened the purchase and exception would be made for their 39 day refund window and I’d be refunded in full. I was instructed to send an email requesting them to refund me via ******. Since then they sent me and email saying they decided not to refund me and a supervisor has returned my multiple calls or emails.

    Thanks for your patience as we reviewed this complaint. This matter was handled directly with the customer, and some information was left out in the complaint. First, the course does give an option for certification as a Biblical Counselor after completion. Once a student finishes this course, they can apply for certification through the International Board of Christian Care. We are not aware of any states that certify Biblical Counselors as the customer stated in the complaint, and this was never promoted that way. It is the responsibility of the customer to know their own state laws and regulations regarding certifications/licensing. Also, Light University does not claim to be accredited. At the customers requested, the customer was given access to other courses, and accepted that offer. Thanks.
