      7/22/23 Service: Oil Change with Oil Filter Replacement. Issue: Staff was unable to remove oil filter so they decided to put a screwdriver in it causing damage to the oil filter housing. They were still unable to remove it. Therefore, I had to get it towed from their garage to a local dealership to which they were able to remove it without issue. Had they not decided to destroy the housing, I would have been able to drive it to another facility without an issue. Called District Manager, *******************, and he refused to reimburse me as they believe they are not liable for the damages even though, they caused them. Resolution: Reimbursement for towing and damages to the vehicle.

      This confirms receipt of the above captioned complaint, and serves as the response from CB Squared Services, Inc. in connection with same.

      The customer was advised during their visit to Jiffy Lube® Service Center #*** on July 22, 2023, that their vehicle’s engine oil filter was seized and appeared to be unremovable. The location manager brought to the customer’s attention the issues with completing the service, and that this oil filter condition is common when there exists an extended time and mileage difference between services and a lack of proper maintenance. Store personnel attempted to complete the services requested by the customer, unfortunately without success.

      The invoice furnished by the customer from ***** ********* ******, dated July 24, 2023, indicates that the dealership technicians, “Found oil filter stuck and had to break it in order to remove,” thus further demonstrating the vehicle’s engine oil filter condition.

      Given the condition of the oil filter upon arrival for service at our location, and the findings of the dealership technicians at ***** ********* ******, CB Squared Services, Inc. unfortunately cannot be responsible for the cost of any repairs associated with the matter, as our technicians merely attempted to help resolve the matter for the customer.

      On Saturday 08/13/2022, I was on my way to my local **** ***** when I suddenly saw red alerts across my odometer and media center that said “Emergency engine oil too low, turn off car now.” These alerts were followed by several other red severe vehicle warning alerts. So I pulled off of 50, onto the nearest exit which was “Glebe Rd.” I pulled into ******* Gas/*** **** Auto at ** * ***** ** Arlington, VA *****. The women at the service desk came out to greet me. I explained why I was there and noted my confusion about the low oil because I received an oil change from Jiffy Lube #*** on 06/30/2022. She, and two other mechanics took my vehicle, a 2015 *** **, into the bay to look at the engine. When they opened the hood the engine was visibly smoking. They said it was too hot to evaluate but they would lift the car and look underneath. They lifted the car and immediately had to grab buckets to contain the oil dripping out. (pictures available) Once they opened my oil pan, they observed my drain plug immediately fall out and hit the ground. It was this time that they called me over to take a look at the situation and advise that I record a video of what happened. I recorded the mechanic explaining what he observed and possible causes for the drain plug to be loose which was: Drain plug was not correctly installed after oil change on 06/30/2022. (video available) I am seeking immediate repair and remedy from Jiffy Lube #987. I have never heard from Jiffy Lube #*** after Monday 08/16/2022. I sent a message requesting services on Wednesday 08/17/2022 via *****.net, which is listed as the first step in dispute resolution for Jiffy Lube #*** per their Limited Service Warranty.  I have not heard from ***** (********* *** *********** ******** ********).
