Moved and had to switch to Rap. Electric bill randomly jumped up $200+ a month for no reason. **************** was terrible treated me like they thought I was an idiot. Tried to tell me a single space heater could be the cause of the increase. I've never in my life spent so much on utilities. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Considering dropping the money on Solar simply so my money doesn't go to these a**holes.

One of ***'s ********************** Representatives (***) reached out to Mr. **** to discuss his bill concern. After reviewing the member's hourly electricity usage data, it was determined that the usage/bill amount was very much weather related. The *** discussed the significantly cold weather pattern experienced in January and the impact that weather like that can have on the electric bill. The *** advised Mr. **** that she could not say that the total increase of his bill was tied to the use of a space heater, however, she did advise on the amount of energy used by space heaters, along with its relation to the electric bill. She also discussed heat pump operability and impacts on electric usage as well. Mr. **** compared his current bill to bills he used to receive several years ago with ***************. The *** advised that there are likely some differences in the rates over the years, as well as differences in the home and outdoor temperatures that can account for changes like that. Mr. **** was still not happy with the information provided and disconnected the call.

If youre buying ham in this area, buy one that doesnt use Rappahannock electric co-op. They are the absolute worst, shady, Bill changed dramatically every month, their support staff of electrical engineers is wildly be mismanaged or understaffed. If power goes out, expected to be a couple days regardless of what lies they try to tell you

December 2023 and Jan **** my electric bill had been increased over $100 a month from my November 2023 bill. I have a **** square ft house and I am only home 2 weekends a month. When Im not there I turn everything off and turn the thermostat way down. I understand electric floor heaters are expensive but they arent used enough to justify a $300+ electric bill. I called them to question the price and they simply said its been cold this winter and my last years bill for the same periods are about the same in price and usage(last year I was home everyday during the week and weekends). They were no help. I will be installing a wood burning stove this summer. Good luck I hope this helps someone, go with Dominion.I would give ZERO stars but ** forced to leave ONE to complete this review.

In 2021 I moved to Lake of the ***** and had to use REC for my electric company, for many years I was a Dominion customer and I was very happy with Dominion. In April 2023 I overlook paying my electric bill by 4 days and they send me an email in which being late they triple my electric from $268.00 to $850.00. I ask them why was I not given and alert, this is what they told me because my bill was due on a week-end they did not send me an alert (what a lamb excuse and a ripoff). I told them Dominion never triple my electric bill for being a few days late. They said they care about their customer but they do not--I wish I had another option for another electric company.
