I had a consultation in November of 2023 with this business to file a pregnancy discrimination lawsuit against my employer. I decided to go with the company after the consultation. I had to call them multiple times to get the next steps. Eventually they set me up with a lawyer who wrote a demand letter to send to my employer. They wrote the demand letter demanding 25k and sent it on January 23, 2024 and put in the demand letter for my employer to respond by February 6, 2024. During this time they never gave me any updates. I texted the lawyer handling my case on February 6, 2024 to follow up. She did not get back to me until February 8, 2024 saying that she had quit on January 26, 2024 and that I would have to call the office directly. I called the office and they told me she would be handling it until the end. I told them what she said and the receptionist told me that they would call me by the end of the week to let me know what the next steps are. They did not call me. I called them the week after and they told me to call in a week because the lawyer had a lot of court cases. I waited and called after the week. The receptionist told me again that she would let the lawyer know and get back to me. I waited again with no response. On February 19, 2024 I tried one last time. The receptionist told me by February 23rd she would have the lawyer call me. I waited until March 5, 2024. I called them again and told her that I wanted to cancel the case and that I wanted a partial refund (I had paid $350 for consultation and $700 for the demand letter and the steps after). I told her I wanted at least part of the $700 back because services were not rendered. The receptionist told me that she would tell the lawyer and see if she would approve a refund and she would get back to me. I have tried contacting them with no resolution. It has been over a month since my employer was supposed to respond and I havent gotten any answer or possible outcome.

    Business Response

We contacted the customer and offered a full refund as well as continued to work on her case. Please see attached emails. We also 1) mailed a full refund of monies paid; 2) despite sending a 5 page demand letter on her behalf; and 3) are continuing to negotiate with her former employer to resolve her issue, which we are doing for free. That said, I will not help this customer any further if she does not withdraw this Complaint. While I issued a full refund and continue to work on her case (for free) I did not hurt this customer, and as soon as I found out that she was dissatisfied, I bent over backwards to not only correct the situation, but to do so with honor. If the customer is dissatisfied still, she needs to fire me immediately.
