I used Mighty Movers to move into my first owned home and it was a huge mistake! We discussed potentially having them pack ahead of time, but I decided to pack myself. I was told that they'd have materials on the truck just in case I needed their services.
On the day of the move, I was behind on packing and willing to pay Mighty Movers to finish the job, but they didn't bring any boxes, forcing me to continue packing while the movers worked. While the 3 guys seemed like they were working pretty hard, they were constantly asking me what was going to stay and what was going to go. After some time, the movers abruptly left for the new place without checking in with me first. Little did I know that they left a bunch of stuff in the closet including items I asked them to take and saw them put on their dolly.
When we arrive at the house, they got to unpacking and caused some minor damage. I was unaware of the stuff they hid/left behind at the old place. When I called to address my grievances, the owner basically asked why I didn't supervise the movers appropriately. If the movers needed a supervisor, then Mighty Movers should have sent one, as other companies I've moved with have done in the past. I paid Mighty Movers to move me and they failed the most basic condition: take all the stuff with you.
Mighty Movers refused to take responsibility for their movers behavior. When I asked them to fix the damage, they insisted that they could send their own contractor or give me $50. I had to press them to tell me who their contractor was before they sent a person I didn't know to my home. When I tried to check references, I discovered their contractor had no online presence at all, just a Virginia business license.
As a result of Mighty Movers leaving stuff in my old place, I had to finish the move myself. Mighty Movers refused to cover any of my additional moving costs incurred.
I hired Mighty Movers thinking I was paying for quality. I was wrong.

This is a SCAM, STAY AWAY. $120 per hours was the price they promised and $120 for fixed service fee. My work was about 1.5 hrs but they somehow found a way to go just over 2 hours (2 hrs 7 mins) to charge me for 2.5 hours. Not only that they used little bit of their wrapping material, which should have been less than $5. They charged me $60 for that. And they took the leftover material with them. Looks they their main business is selling the material at a very high cost. I gave generous tips to the workers as well. But when I saw the final bill, I was shocked and talked to them that it is wrong. But they would listen. In the end I ended up paying $520 which should have been $360. $160 more than what I planned for.
    Stay away from these scammers.

The movers themselves were awesome - very accommodating, efficient, and pleasant to work with.
When we called to get a quote and schedule our service, Cliff (the owner? manager? who is to say) told us that it would be a rate of $100/hour for labor only. We made it clear that we only needed an hour of work. In the confirmation email that we were given the morning of our move and had to sign, the top of the email restated that rate and implied that the total fee for services would be $100. At the very bottom was a small clause stipulating a 3-hour ($300) minimum that no one mentioned explicitly in our multiple conversations. Cliff and his office staff were then totally unprofessional about our complaint that we were led to believe we would be paying $100 and then were charged $300. Truly bad business practice. Even their Yelp profile page states a 1 hour minimum.
A shame that such wonderful on-site staff are backed up by atrocious management.
