I had a loose vapor side valve stem that was leaking and I tightened it. I called ******* to "top-off" my refrigerant, stressing that it was R22. They put R422 in the system creating a 60/40 mix of R22/R422. This is in direct violation of EPA Section 608 regulations and the VA State Mechanical Code 1102.2.1 of the Statewide Building Code. Immediately, my 2yr old compressor overheats, only blowing hot air and then shutting down so I call them back. They do numerous bypasses to the defrost board, including bypassing both high and low pressure safety switches and leave. System runs hot again and I call them a 3rd time. They claim system has a leak (it didn't have a leak during their initial visit when they topped it off with wrong refrigerant!) and evaporator is "dirty and clogged up" causing it to overheat. They state that they will not service system due to "horrible" leaking evaporator but will replace it for $6000.00. I got a 2nd HVAC company to leak test my system and they stated that there is no leak and that the integrity of my system is good. However, due to the mixed refrigerant, nobody will service it beyond evacuating the refrigerant. Because of ******* refrigerant mixing shortcut, my only option is a premature system replacement.Receipt image shows they put R422 into my R22 system. Other images are EPA code and VA Mechanical Code
